Good message, the issue is that a lot of us don't have a circle to fall back on. Externalizing help to others when we're overwhelmed doesn't help us to grow, unless we have the 'tools' to resolve these issues first within ourselves. If we depend on others without being able to depend on ourselves (or healthily relieve stress when overwhelmed), then we pass that responsibility onto others. The average person isn't surrounded by Banyan employees, therapists, etc., so this scenario is only feasible for celebrities and people who are in comfortable financial situations. Unless one habitually visits rehab facilities and lives their life there? Which, that can't be healthy, lol...

As a recovering sugar addict, this might just be the incentive I need to start thinking about changing my future (I'm 35, and when I was younger, from the age of 18 to about 6 months ago at the time of writing this comment, I drank so much Doctor Pepper and Gatorade in addition to gorging myself on as many Kit Kat chocolate bars as I could, that I shouldn't be alive - yet somehow, I still am... and what took me to quit the fizz was a broken tooth which needed an emergency filling, in addition to constant stomach agony, which only got worse over the past few years - I don't think I can ever drink Coca Cola or anything fizzy again, lest I risk relapsing).

So what do you suggest he does for addicts then? He started a solid sober living house. If you don't tell people about it, they won't know. What are you doing to help people?
