Agree completely, on another video regarding this situation I commented that these people use the email and passwords for other accounts like bank accounts. If you type in free Crunchyroll accounts in KZbin, you will find people showing leaked information as well. You can report and hopefully help out other people from getting more than just their Crunchyroll account being hacked

@@SockieTheSockPuppet This misinformation has been spreading around a lot recently, Sonny has not announced the end of physical media, they have announced they are not longer making writable media such has blu rays you can buy blank and write on like a hard drive. This is because basically no one buys these as hard drivers are better in almost every way and I'm more surprised they haven't ended it sooner.

@AzaiaMonota No, the blu rays bought by game and film companies are BD-R which are not rewritable, the ones being discontinued are BD-RE which are not used for films or games, please research before trying to correct someone.

@@KnobKnocker I've never seen a Blu-ray used for anything other than a game or movie as HDDs were already the standard by the time Blu-ray released no one was ever buying rewritable Blu-ray discs so who else would have been buying them, also having rewritables is useful for companies because that way you can test the files and make sure everything works first before putting it on a permanent disc otherwise you'd be wasting a disc every time you change something

Could it be also simply some people using dictionaries combos from other websites/platforms breaches and since most people sadly nowaday use same login and password for everything, it makes it easier for malicious people. Or maybe people that happened to download things they shouldnt and happened to be a keylogger that stole everything they type Or maybe the account was linked to another platform like discord and the other platform account got hijacked and the malicious people obtained access like that to the crunchyroll account then changed the password there are so many possibilities

@@animegirlsfan02 Probably, most major sites are going to have hashed passwords so even if you got access to a dev account you aren't seeing anything they can't actually access the passwords, this is why when you forget a password you aren't given the password you forgot and are instead asked to change it

So one of a few things probably happened: 1. Some proxy has grabbed the passwords 2. The hashing algorithm was crasked 3. The password resetting system is somehow being abused 4. THE PASSWORDS WERE STORED IN PLAINTEXT WHICH IS THE WORST WAY TO STORE USER'S PASSWORDS

Meh, the password I use there isn’t used anywhere else, and if it’s just a computer system they use to enter the password other places they won’t get anything from me. With any new sites I create now I just let Apple pick the password for me, so nothing is getting reused & it’s saved & auto logged in when I go to the site, so much easier that picking different passwords for everything.
