Thanks for the comment. It's a great song. Glad I could help. And thanks for posting your Square One videos. I hadn't seen them in years and years. Guess we bothe are fans!

I really like the message behind this song, because it shows not only how to solve something like a math problem, but also even a problem in life itself. Sometimes when you're in a tough spot, all you need to do is simply change your point of view and the solution may become clearer. =)

I like Larry's style here. It reminds me of that of Jeff Hyslop of "Today's Special" Fame.

Thank goodness I watched Square One as a kid. It encouraged me to try different ways to solve all problems of the first way I try isn’t working! 👍

This is Square One TV... but Today's Special was good, too! :-)

You may notice that at the end of the clip, Larry is credited as "Obelisk." I should mention that an Obelisk is a tall structure with a pyramid-shaped top. The Washington Monument in D.C. is an example.

YES! After nearly 20 years of searching my quest is over! Thank you so much for posting this! Every recording of this show that I have was an attempt to tape this video. ..Now I just have to figure out why I was seeking this so much...

It's a major sin that Square One isn't on DVD. Maybe kids wouldn't be failing at math if it were.

I remember this song so well, and sing it to myself quite often out of nowhere.

Ahh, the bug's eye view of Larry in pseudo MIddle-Eastern regalia while kibbitzing the chess game is one of the Square One moments that stick in my memory these decades later! (though I _totally_ misremembered the melody & lyrics of this song!)

Any more you can post that involve the great singing of Larry Cedar would be awesome. He's an incredible talent. Too bad this show was never released on DVD. If anyone has the show on dvd, let me know.

Hmmmm... I think this was made before the Spin Doctors hit it big, but there is a similarity. :)

It could be anything. Sound to me like: "I'm not yet finished!" Or it could be the Egyptian for "change your point of view". Who knows.

I can understand that. :)

Hmmm. Larry did look a little like Matthew Lillard in this clip, didn't he?

I notice most Square One skits teach you something specific and mathematical; what tesselations are, what combinatorics are, how to write Roman numerals, etc. Am I missing something subtle or is this lesson a lot more general and a little interpretive? 😊

I know. :)

Wow, "Today's Special". The 4 main characters were Jeff, Jodie, Sam, and Muffy. Been a while since someone has brought that to mind.
