I could cry watching this..... I used to come here as a kid in the 60's & 70's and loved the hustle and bustle of the place, loved the banter, good and bad, it was all atmosphere. It's dire now, how can anyone make a living there, so sad. (I haven't lived in Glasgow since the mid 80's)

Remember my Mother taking me here around 1970. Was an eyeopener for a 13 year old wee middle class lad from Paisley! I loved the patter and interactions there and all the different smells...Not all good! She also took me to Paddy's market which was fascinating. She would buy some old useless stuff from some poor soul and then give them it back to resell, they knew her by name and probably thought she was a bit mad :)

Im from North Ayrshire use to go to the barra,s bk in the 90,s when I went with a boy Fae Glasgow absolutely loved going there & the forge shopping center too , it,s a shame that everything's different now but I guess the units are alot to rent these days but Glasgow is still my favourite place to go for a day out love watching these video,s & seeing how much things have change especially the old video,s the are like a blast Fae the past ,keep up the good work with your video,s x

Another wonderful video! Didn't see the guy assaulting you coming. But I've been in trouble before just for taking someone's picture in the barras, getting shouted at to stop taking pictures! I realise they are paranoid about people grassing them but they can't treat people like he did with you. Glad you kept the assault in as it gives a uniqueness to it.

Sad that it’s so quiet. I’m from 5 hours north of Glasgow on the west coast and I used to go down with ma folks to the Barras when I was a teen - I’m 44 now. Used to be awesome - considering our village has a handful of houses and more cattle than people, the noise and craic of the market was incredible to me! I loved it! I still love Glasgow and my favourite friends are from Springburn!

I used to go to the Barras every weekend in the early to mid 80's and you could hardly get through the crowds.Moved away years ago but will return to Glasgow at some point and hopefully I can visit the Barras again.

I remember breenching 2 the barras in my teens and before 1991 to about 1993 to get vhs tapes mainly horror I couldnae afford the banned ones mind they where 10£ each pirate copy's u know the exorcist before the bans where lifted. Aye I remember most Saturdays u couldnae walk straight for the amount of family's and people everywhere. From the looks now you could hear a mouse fart !!!

I used to work in a dvd/console games stall just a few stalls doon fae the dart stall. The traders were mostly all ok people but they cannae handle shit like a camera getting pulled out.
