I got surprisingly excited when you ended up on my bike commuting route. I’ve kicked countless trash cans out of that bike lane.

4:50 How else is that guy going to carry his ego without that bigass truck?!

Nothing like a painted double yellow line for the drivers to totally ignore. Ugh. That route has always been iffy. I take A to 28th or beyond which is not only quicker but a much safer to get to Rad's or Kindred on Beech.

You might be on to something! Here I thought a little park land would be nice, but I'm delusional sometimes.

I'm curious about the bike you're riding in this video. I get a glimpse of the front rack, bag and what appears to be a cable (bar end shifters?) Touring bike?

This bike is an old Novara Verita. I got it for free around the neighborhood, and the SRAM double-tap was all beat up, so I swapped with some bar end shifters (friction), and that front rack is a Soma Fab thing they were selling cheap because the welding is a bit off. Technically, it's a "light touring" bike. It's my beater. Frame's all dinged up and it's ugly, but it's great to ride and lock up just about anywhere!

Interesting, I don't see any reference to new bike infra in that plan you linked but hopefully it's included

Thanks, @serafine-y8v! On the second page of the slides, second bullet point says "Initial scope included widening of Golf Course Drive between 26th and 28th Stret to install additional travel lanes, bike lanes, and sidewalk." Now, I don't know if that initial scope has changed, but on page 3, it says "Install new pedestrian cart paths," and I wonder if that would also be paths people on bikes would take. So, I see the reference there, but it's definitely not clear. :)

Random question: how do you keep up with all the new projects in SD? I'm excited to see the gas lamp infrastructure this weekend 😁

After being on my community planning group for like 6 years, I think I'm just tuned into that community. I got to a lot of community events, and hang out with people who go to a lot of public meetings. It also helps to read a lot of local news, and follow the local electeds on socials (I also reach out to them from time to time.
