Jerry and Linda aired a video on February 11, 2019. They were beginning their life in The Villages. Only sixty days in their home in America's top retirement community, they took some viewer letters and discussed their observations from their first two months.
In this video Three plus years later, they watch themselves and make observations along the way. Is it still as inviting as it was? Has The Villages changed? The Newcomers comment on many facets of their life in The Bubble.

This was nice ,,I came down from the Hudson Valley NY to take care of my mother and get her to see her 100th birthday ,,, arrived on Dec 18th 2019 ,,,,it took me some time but now very happy ,,the weather is hot in the summer and yes you do adjust ,,, do other things ,,,I love to Garden and that was a Hugh challenge learning the plants ,,, still learning but fun to visit the Nursery's ,,,,so I so agree I do love it here ,,,and my mom will turn 102 on July 2nd ,,,,WOW still can not be leave that ,,, but thanks for your channel ,,I do love the mail bag and these extras ,,,

We switched to Direct TV Streaming. No Dish.. which reduced the cost for us. Started as AT&T streaming but was changed about a year in and just kept the internet portion from our provider. Also, loved Cart Narcs. So funny! Thanks for the lead

We are currently renting for the month of May in Cason hammock. We have been renting for the past 2 years and we love it here. My husband and I have been looking at some of the house prices and they have doubled in price from the last time we were here. Not affordable for us now so we will continue renting until prices come down which could be awhile if they ever do. Love your videos, you give some great information so thank you. I researched 55 and over communities since early 2019. Back then I was planning on retiring in April 2022. We did our Lifestyle Visit in June 2019 and loved it. We knew The Villages was the place we wanted to retire to, but still had 3 years to go. I was plant manager of an oil refinery. In January 2020 we had a deep freeze Nd lots of headaches at the plant. My wife said to me “why don’t you retire this year?”. I said REALLY? And we decided to do it. We bought a house in February 2020 and I retired in early May 2020 and we moved a week later! Your videos were part of my research, as were others that were very helpful. By retiring then I missed most of the covid issue at work and we missed the huge price increases. Two years later we could not afford the house we bought. We closed in the lanai and just love living here. Thanks for your videos!

@@noreenn6976 Just west of The Villages, there is an all ages community of small homes called Simple Life. I believe most of the homes are under 1,000 square feet. The last time I looked at prices on line, some prices were still under $200K. I don't know if there are HOA fees or maintenance/amenity fees.

Another great show reminiscing. We retired 2 yrs ago. Yours, and Skip Smith’s channel, led us to The Lofts of Brownwood in Sept 2020. A year later we left The Villages and after 7 months looking, found and closed on a home 3 weeks ago. Our impetus for moving was extended family; being here for them and their needs. We had some very fun & memorable experiences at The Villages; life experience stories to retell for years to come. We saw you all(and Skip) when we got there- many times. We enjoyed the wildlife and witnessed the wild life. However the sizzling sun, the oppressive humidity, and the myriad of hungry bugs and insects we fed well, takes a special breed of person to endure. My advice to future newcomers is to wear sunscreen, get outdoors early in the day, find your niche, and continue to watch Jerry, Linda, and Gizmo for good times and laughs. We still do. Thanks guys!

BTW, I am watching this video in our car that is parked in the driveway of our new Avondale model courtyard villa with golf cart garage located in lower St. John a 5 minute if that walk to the pool and postal station we signed the contract on yesterday. 😁 Our closing is scheduled for 6/4. Still can't believe our great TV sales rep Machele Siever was able to nab a hold for us the second it was released for sale. And when that hold is placed the prospective buyer has only a couple of hours to say yay or nay. We were an immediate yay and the rest is history. We are very happy but very tired, but a good tired as e made it to our final destination.

Hi Jerry and Linda......my husband and I went to visit Mt. Dora after seeing that you and Linda went there. We loved it there. We did the boat ride that you two did through the canal. Absolutely loved it. We stayed at the lakeside in for two days. After that we went to the villages to visit a couple of friends that lived there through the winter. They took us to the Fenny Grill for lunch. I thought of the two of you while our friends showed us around some of the villages. We really enjoyed our visit. I really enjoy your channel.

I agree with those who state what a blessing it is to live in the villages and live out their dream in the final years it’s great to see people happy and loving life because at this stage of the game as we age it’s not easy. Having a positive attitude is everything but that can be challenged with all that goes with aging. I don’t watch TV anymore I’m always on social media that’s my “entertainment” and watching your show is part of it❤️ The price for the three year bundle is a good deal normally these promos with spectrum because I’ve been down that road before at longest is a year and then you gotta try to find another promotion🤣

I can be on my laptop all day with email, YT videos, Pinterest, City-Data, researching anything that pops into my head, my ISP tells me the news of the world so I am not in the dark about anything going on. Oh the spectrum shuffle. We play that game too. Spectrum is our only choice where we live so it’s just a dance I do every 12 months. Right now it’s 125.00 a month but I will be renegotiating next year when “ the special” expires. I look forward to the dance now.lol

BTW: Feel your pain ($$$) and aggravation with cable, Internet, mobile providers too, same in NJ. With the cost of homes increasing and the home insurance crisis in Florida, it doesn’t appear we can afford to move there anymore. It is definitely getting tighter and tighter, we've had to reevaluate and adjust our priorities. We are still good to go, but we need to get a lot soon! And with the Fed increasing the interest rate makes a difference. Yikes! Great look back!

I just purchased a nice home in a great location for a very reasonable price, so it depends on what you’re looking for. And I shopped around for insurance and got a good rate from KIN insurance. Don’t let the naysayers scare you away from your dreams.

My home is in The Villages a few minutes from Lake Sumter Landing Square…very central. I’ve watched Jerry & Linda’s videos for over a year and learned so much before I came down to buy a home…still learning, while living the dream! :-)

I’ll try to stay more positive. I’m not sold on the Villages but I’m learning a lot as you did. I have other regions of Florida that I like.
