I love seeing your kiddos doing chores around the house & taking pride in them. So many children growing up now don’t have that structure. It is an important part of raising your children. Teaching them accountability, responsibility, respect, pride. Yes a child learns all of those coming from chores.

One thing some people overlook is honey for their emergency pantry. It never goes bad, is full of vitamins, and can be used as medicine. I keep a lot of honey on hand.

Molasses too. Especially if you have been iron deficiency in the past. Teaspoon a day in winter will perk you right up.

Things are going to get worse before they get any better sad to say, as a retired person, the amount of money for my groceries has shrunk, meaning prices are so high my dollars do not go as far as they used to. I too have trouble with dairy, try A2 milk, it does not cause me distress after consuming. Audrey you are a sweet person, we love seeing your face !

I am also retired and on social security. I feel your pain. Trying to eat healthy is very expensive. Doctors say to cut out the carbs and cut back on pasta and rice. Very difficult because everything is going up. But My God will take care of me and I am not worried.

Make your soup then freeze it, gallons of it for fraction of the cost. If you are going to have another garden this year, dehydrate as many vegetables as possible. Gotta adapt to new situations and you are never to old to learn new skills. Might be time for the boys to go fishing, bring home some of those delicious salmon for the freezer. It may get tough going but nothing we can't get thru so hang in there.

It's always a treat to see any of the kids in the vlogs, but I fully support their ability to choose whether they want to participate on any given day - some family vloggers are challenged to uphold that concept, which is a darn shame - that you for being great examples in that area.. To solve my onion powder issue I ordered a one pound bag of organic dehydrated onions and used my grinder to make them into powder. One batch I did regular and the second batch I toasted on the stove before grinding them. It's cheaper and I have enough to keep me stocked for a few months. I do that with garlic as well.

I grow Egyptian onions they’re perennials and they grow like weeds! I dehydrate them and make onion powder and also chunky onions they grow in a corner of my raise gardens and grow like crazy they are mostly tops.

We grow enough onions and garlic for cooking and dehydrating. Then I also use a coffee grinder (only for spices) and then make my own garlic and onion powder. Haven’t needed to buy either from the store in years

Prices are going up like crazy here in Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦. I live in a small condo but I do have a nice size pantry and have it stocked pretty good. Its been a blessing for me. I live alone and feel like I have what I need in the event I were to get sick, which I have a time or two.😜 Audrey, you are precious and do what you feel comfortable doing. We love you all!❤️

You should dehydrate the onions you grow in your garden and grind them up to add to your spices. I love seeing the crawl space storage area. You have so much space!

How funny! Your "crawl space" is a full-on basement! Great storage space. Living up in Alaska you definitely need extra backups. Thank you for sharing! It is always helpful to see different perspectives on what to store, Ideas are always helpful! Do you can meats and vegetables? You might stock up on women's supplies ex.,pads and tampons. Vitamins, alternate heat sources.

Audrey, I know you are an amazing young lady! I am the oldest and have a younger brother and sister. During my teenage years, I always felt I wasn’t pretty enough, smart enough, talented enough…ugh! I am 60 years old now and when I think back to my teenage years, I was awesome. I just couldn’t see it at that time. Yes, I have alot of so called" preeper" stuff. I live in SW Florida, aka " hurricane alley". That being said, we have pretty much what you have for preparing. The only difference is, we have a small air conditioning unit that we can put in the window of our smallest room, and run it off our portable generator, as long as we have gasoline. No air-conditioning for us, is like no heat fir you. We live in Cape Coral, which is the sub tropics.We have 20, 10 gallon containers of gasoline in our garage from JUN 1st, through November 30th, because of hurricanes.
