Autumn is my favorite season and as a human I am also in the Autumn of my life being 72 and looking forward to 73, an age my father was unable to reach. Luckily, the Women in my family live much longer. I love your laughter, and that stove is a wonder for sure. May you have a lovely week🍁

Good morning Colette- Thanks so much for taking us through the function of the Stanley 9. Love the color! There is no heat like it. It seeps into my bones and I like being near our toasty Home Comfort kitchen stove, " Matilda". She has not been fired up for the season as yet. Not our central heat source. The large airtight in the basement is. We are still in the 70s/ low 80s F. Your cottage is so cozy. Cozy is a good word to aspire to. And your rooms are ablaze! So nice to be this prepared for winter, with a new kitchen stove and lots of light in every corner. ~ Diane

Hi Collette I am so envious of that new stove of yours, I live in an oldish house and we don't have central heating, so we rely on electric radiators, and gas fires, I am dreading the winter, I love the seasons of the year but dread the cold, and now our dreadful new prime minister has taken our winter fuel allowance away from us ( I am a 71 year old pensioner ), and I can't claim pension credit as I get £20 more than the qualifying limit, due to my late husbands contributions, I am so envious of your position of being not reliant on grid power, for heating, I spend all winter worrying about the bills, I love my garden it is my only pleasure, and my dog which I enjoy going out for walks with, I have dreamt all my life about having a small holding, where I can grow as much as I can ( which I try to do now ) but I think I would do as you have and plant trees, I have a lot of trees in my biggish garden and I love seeing the seasons and how they change, unfortunately I am now not capable of looking after land, but keep going and pushing myself, you are a great example to me, and I love your vlogs thank you Collette xxx

Just to let you know that on Owen Jones' channel I could hear the mad news about cuts related to being able to survive the Winter for many people and how this policy affected thousands of citizens in the past years. WOW Colette , we have only just had our new Interweb connection hooked up after nearly a MOONth, so I have a lot of catching up to do but I just have to say I am loving the Yellow of the walls , so uplifting (I saw the first few walls before we were cut off) and Your new pal Stanley with the tiles around Him , he looks great in blue!! LOL Yesterday I picked 3 small branches of Oak from a beautiful Tree in the little Park across from our driveway ...the New Leaves are a Divine Lime Green and I have put them in my Bathroom to take a Sacred Bath staring at them and imagining the New Beginnings and come up with a cunning plan or 2 . Your Stanley stove is lovely! ❤ Sharing your stove made my heart warm with all the fond memories of my Stanley on my farm when my kids were very young. 🥰 We lived on the Canadian border in North Dakota, and used it exclusively for heat and cooking. My kids would warm their jammies and clothes in the warming ovens 😊 Mine wasn't hooked up to heat water, which would have been pretty handy. The kids first learned to cook on it, eggs that they gathered from our hens. It was definitely the heart of our home, as it is yours.

I know exactly how happy you feel! There is nothing like a well lit home, especially in the winter. I get excited when a workman does a great job of improving my home life. I sprinkle the dry teas in the boiling water and turn off the heat and cover it to steep...then I pour out the tea through a small simple screen or porcelain strainer capture the residue. No need for paper bags 😊

It makes us so thankful, when we have been without something, to get it back, such as your lights, and at so much less wattage. I am so thankful for all I have, as there by the love of God, I could be that person out on the streets with nothing. I always make sure I switch all my lights off when I am not in that room, and switch my tv off at the plug every night. I also unplug my laptop from the mains at night. I now have a battery light switch light in my bathroom, and my airing cupboard, and they are brilliant (in every sense) and a light sensor light run on batteries half way down my stairs, which comes on as soon as you go near it. I had an Aga in one of the houses I owned in the past, and I LOVED it. It makes you eat much healthier I found - I cooked lots of casseroles and veg in it, as it was on all the time, except for in the summer. Stunning Colette I’ve not long ago had a log burner - a cook stove normally found in yurts or bothies - installed into a newly discovered fireplace in the kitchen I’m renovating Everyone told me I was bonkers, especially since I have log burners into my two reception rooms, but I love my little stove so far I wish, wish, wish for a Stanley like yours though. After seeing your vlogs on the stove I looked on the websites for Irish market stoves and love the one Stanley does with the four legs! Love the tiling job- really arty and it all looks good. Everything looks so cozy and homespun! I love making my own bread, I add sunflower and pumpkin seeds also with chia, hemp and flax seeds...so yummy and so healthy, and so hard to resist hot out of the oven!

I have this feeling, need to let light in and air, to let things breath a bit. ...it seams importent this year. Maybe to balans darkness fighting to survive out there in the world.
