3:48 That isn't A CF6, that is a TF39 used on the C5A/B models. The CF6s were what replaced the TF39s on what would be the C-5M Super Galaxy.

I can't count the number of tire changes I've done on C-130's. They aren't fast. They only require 2 people. And we didn't use that jack. We put the thread protector on got underneath the plane and kicked the tire off while the second person caught the tire to keep it from damaging anything. Then to put it back on, we used a couple of seat rods from the back of the plane. This is an example of AETC training. AMC has a much higher tempo and we don't have time for all the special tools. I was working on planes that had been built in the 60's and were retired just a few years ago. And we still maintained a 98% departure reliability rate while deployed. Sometimes you make do with what you have on hand and get the job done. That's the mark of a good Crew Chief.

You don't show the short cut way to cameras and blow up everyones spot. I was in AMC and we used the proper tools unless maybe off station some place and in a pinch.

Definitely remember those days using seat rods to lift the tire, on the C-141 two people would lift the tire up, the good ole days 😀

As an aircraft nerd, I found a lot of the footage in this video kind of interesting... Having said that, the entire video would have been vastly better without the insipid, obtuse text narrative. It was better than "robo-narration"....which I won't even watch....but still the video would have been much better without it. Just constructive criticism. BTW, super satisfying @5:47 when the C-5 nose closes. Freakin incredible how well it fits.... Like I said, I'm a nerd.

Plane tires looks so tiny compared to the rest of the plane but in reality, they're HUGE!! Many times larger than car or truck tires and often bigger than tractor tires too!

Watching this makes me feel pity for my country, us have 222 of these planes while my country sticking in c-130 and not even half 222 planes we have and some of our plane are donated by US and worse can't be operated because lack some of spare parts

You can change a 130 wheel with a seat rod, screwdriver, 1/4 wrench and of course the large socket and torque wrench.
