@@wetcoastfab Yes, thanks sir. Even before KZbin, on TV the expert would be doing complicated jobs building something or fixing cars. Everything worked perfectly for them. What projects I've had time to do have been mostly difficult because of the "oops". That's what we need to know how to deal with. That's what makes it hard. If a guy just shows everything going right, we are only learning about a quarter of what we really need to know. We know how to fix the "oops" ....Thanks.

I just replaced the p/s pump on my 93 ford Aerostar. The job is much more involved the your truck. I wish the Aerostar had that easy access. I swapped the pully after I took the pump out.
@wetcoastfab Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that it was so much more involved! I bet there's a lot less room under the hood, as well. I hope your swap worked out and your Aerostar is fixed!

Thanks so much the info. My 1990 F150 is crazy with the steering. Definitely needs some tlc. I did tighten the gear box which helped but mine sounds just like yours did.

Nice video - glad i watched it. Ty! I gotta say this but don't let it bother you - im 60, played drums (loudly!) for some 35+yrs, seen probably 100 or so concrrts (incl Ted Nugent, loudest live shows in history!), a wartime veteran (lotsa missle/explosion action, woohoo!), drywall hanger/metal framer..... my point? One ear, blown. Other, not so good. Your voice register, while not harsh - actually soothing?, is Soo hard to hear! (For me, that is) Thought it was just me & my old pal, tinnitus, but asked my wife & she agreed (& hell, we never agree!). You speak clearly, ty, just kinda quiet. Oh, well, my problem- ear buds should help, right? Btw, i thought you might want something between your radiator & the puller, pump, etc, like some cardboard or big cookie/pizza pan, to block a possible "Oops" into your radiator. You just never know when the gods of fate are gonna drop a deuce right next to your hands! Thanks again, enjoyed your work!
@boyracer34775 ай бұрын
Thanks for the radiator tip. I'm a old guy but as a working person never had time for a project like this. Now is the time. Tips like yours are important. How about trying an headset for your computer? After 50 years flying jets I've lost some hearing. Gettin' old ain't for sissies. LOL

Maybe I missed it but how did you and to what did you connect the return line leading from the pump? Into the rad or another hose leading to the transmission cooler?

Glad to be of help! Thanks for the feedback and I have some more videos planned for the ol' F-150: rust repair, a new dual tank switcher and maybe a cheap Tremclad paint job!

@@wetcoastfab I know I'm late to the party but I will be looking for your paint job. Mine is a very solid old truck but lots of surface rust. A paint job would be great. I'm also hoping to do a bench seat upholstery change and add carpet. The windscreen is loose also and needs to be reset. Brake light is on and brakes grab easily. Lot's of issues. Hope you do (or have done) some more old F-150 stuff. Mine's a 1985 with fuel injection. I'll be searching your channel now that I have found you. Thank you.

@@mackendw I was given my 1985 F-150 as a gift. (The most expensive thing you can have is a free truck, boat or airplane). It took years for my mechanics to get it straightened out. Still have more to do but it runs reliable now. One of the first things they did while hunting for gremlins was the fuel system. Pumps in both tanks and one somewhere on the engine and the switch between the tanks.

Great video thanks for making it. About to do the same for my 95 F-350. I did notice at the 21:20 mark there is some kind of fluid that starts dripping when the engine is running, seen at the bottom right of the video. Maybe coolant?
@wetcoastfab Жыл бұрын
Hey Troy, I think what you're seeing is just a piece of fluff or dirt hanging off one of the transmission lines?

Something that nobody had a problem with for decades now has to be sooo complicated. That was the problem, it was too easy. Engineering just keeps getting worse and worse. Pathetic and disgusting.
@boyracer34775 ай бұрын
So much of engine and transmissions problems on new cars are caused by unrealistic EPA fuel burn standards. Too much too fast and making engines and transmissions too finicky. Of course they don't care because they are trying to force us out of gas vehicles entirely.
