Mr. Farmer, I have no idea how much money you’ve saved me over the last couple years, I felt like I at very least owe you my gratitude. Thank you! 2018 L5P 236k and going strong.

My 2019 just started throwing this code/warning. Thank you for this step by step video. Saved me a lot of time and money 💰

I was going to do this after watching your video but I also watched "Wild Mountain Garage" version of this and he does it without the air intake removal, clamps and electrical connections. Just removing the battery provides plenty of room to change the tank. I would add that I bought a SureGrip 60cc animal syringe from Murdoch's. It comes with a tip extender and reducer that is perfect for using to fill the lower reservoir before installation. Most videos don't address this but I felt it was necessary to have some coolant in the lower tank. After a couple of heating/cooling cycles it should balance out.

I have to leave a comment and a like. I would say I’m above average repairing/fixing cars. I do know what I’m doing but it’s always a plus to watch a video on how to repair something that you’ve never done before on a specific vehicle. Thank you for making this video. It made me work on my friends vehicle and I was able to knock it out in about 40 mins from start to finish including draining the coolant. The quote from Goodyear for parts and labor was $500+. You are a hero to my eyes. Thank you again.

My low coolant message started to show its ugly head on my last trip, so the first place I went was to you. I plan to change out my coolant because I have 70K miles on my 2018 2500HD. It was the coolant tank procedure that concerned me. I'll be using a OEMTOOL refill kit to replace the coolant, it's a slick tool. Thanks Farmer, you the man!

Thanks for the info!!! Only thing I could add is there is absolutely no reason to remove the air box.

I love the silver color. I've had white since 2009, next one will be something different but not black, too hot for me.

If you just want to turn the annoying warning off just unplug it and jump the two terminals in the plug.

Looking at an L5P with the low coolant light on. The truck was sitting for a couple weeks before I viewed it and it had slight air pressure in the surge tank. Does that sound like possible head gasket issue or do these tanks hold air pressure when they go bad due to sensor? I just wanna make sure the slight air release I heard when the cap came off is just the surge tank and not a head gasket issue. Can’t find much info.

Do you know what half of the tank the sensor is in? It seems like it would be in the bottom half but by leaving it empty, I would think you would still get the low coolant level warning?
@scottsams75653 ай бұрын
I'm actually changing one right now the sensor is located in the upper tank and the lower tank is just an overflow bottle during an overpressurization issue. It's OK for fluid to be in there and it's also OK if there's nothing in it. You don't have to worry about filling it up. We just gotta make sure the cap is tight.

Just did the paper clip in the plug trick to my neighbor’s as he did not want to spend the $ on a tank…….no more coolant message now.
Pretty much, LOL. Hope your doing good. Thank you for your comment!

@@CFarmer doing good brother. I'm glad to hear you getting back into transporting with a pickup, possibly rv's again. You seemed to enjoy that much more than the big rigs and OTR, less headaches I'm sure. We're sure looking forward to that content again too! 👍
