I got this mower from my neighbor who traded it for the 90s Yard Machines rider that I put a deck spindle on. The biggest thing it needs is a transmission swap. In this video I swap out the transmission and figure out why it's hard to shift.

I just want to know what the gears are on a LT 1000, made the mistake of moving the shifter be for I had it hooked up, now it's in reverse in all gears, or forward, no nutural, please help.

You mentioned adjusting the brakes to make shifting easier for my case as well. It seems odd, but what the heck. I'll jack up the back and test for free rolling and I guess tweak brake adjustment until it's at a nice place in between. That and if the shift linkage is bent may well have to mowing smoothly. The best way to get the brakes is to have it where the pedal is easy to push and doesn't bind up the linkages but also stops the mower. In my case, I adjusted the brake rod itself because it was putting too much pressure on the brakes and somehow causing it to be hard to shift.

Yes Wizard seemed to make lower end mowers but the transmissions are the exact same.

Thats a 90's machine alright, I recognize the design that gives it away. My God the exhaust is blown out on that thing, its far too loud for my liking! After my Craftsman machine went through a flood, the transmission don't want to shit no more either! It was perfectly fine before the flood! But no, mother nature decided to screw us big time. I don't have a junk yard like you do, so its not like there's another 1990's transmission lying around to swap over. Anyways, good job getting that one going.

I believe this one is a 2003 model year but the same practice would work for a 90s tractor.
