Changing Belt on a 1989-1992 Jaguar XJ6

Northern Il area. I have a 89. It is like a time machine.

I would try tightening it first they do get old and stretch I would check for cracks or obvious signs of wear first. Crawl underneath with a flashlight and make sure the belt is it to shabby. If its still in good shape I would just tighten using the instructions on this video for tightening the belt.

mine was squealing, then it came apart at 60 mph, get another

runs good but electrical problems are annoying. Now our next project is front shocks.

Replace the yellow fan. They crack and explode, very danderous. check for cracks on inner disk that attaches to the blades. Get new black one . Not bad a job. See living with a classic channel for instruction

Edwin Lopez Everything I did is in the video. I don’t recall taking the fan off but it was so long ago I honestly can’t remember. I’ve worked on a lot of car since then. If it’s not in the video no I did not take the fan off

alvin liew I can't remember. Check out the rockauto.com parts catalog. Put in year make and model and it will give you the belt witch you seek.
