Perfect vid as ever mate. Picked up a few great little tips on a process that I thought I had licked. It’s those little tips that make all the difference. The difference between struggling like hell & probably having to do it twice or doing it smoothly & right 1st time. Thanks mate, as ever you save me a load of time & a great deal of frustration!!!

@@TheParrottBros Well mines was a slight cheat as it was the one from my old mk LCR that my mate and i are breaking so it was just a swapover really, it has powerflex bushes. Been lying in the boot for about 6 months 🤣 and finally did it yesterday was it was up in the air for the haldex service, we were also going to fit the ttv6 front arb from it too but by that time it was way too warm and far too beeroclockish. 🍻 Need to get myself a R32 or TTV6 rear arb too at some point, got any going begging ? 😂
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
Haha that is a cheat 😂. Nice when the parts are compatible on multiple models. I’ve only got the arb’s I need. If i hear of any I’ll let you know for sure 👍🏻

Great guide. I bought a second-hand dog bone and gave it a refurb with powerflex bushes this weekend. Just need to fit it to the car now, but have heard horror stories of the bolts to the subframe shearing. 😱
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
That’s the best thing to do, if anyone needs one I have a spare here now they can use. Always nice to have it built up can swap straight over. You go for front and back? They are snap, best thing I can advise is clean the heads off, when done just take it one bolt at a time. If one breaks or shears then can take into a mechanics workshop to sort. Unless you can weld and put time inserts at home :)
@robertrawlins52784 жыл бұрын
@@TheParrottBros Yeah I did front and back, got both as part of the Powerflex "Handling Pack" so thought I might as well. Yeah I'll give the bolts a clean up, and some penetrating oil the day before. I've got new bolts to go back in, so they only have to last long enough to come out. :)
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
Top man, for what they cost I always try and use new bolts where possible. Saves a lot of head ache 😂

Another job for my expanding list, did you choose the yellow over the red (rectangle) bushes purely for track use. I've read the yellows can be too firm and cause rattles
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
Haha watching my videos will cause you to want to buy more car parts. The big yellow one is power flex and yellow is for petrol and tuned diesels. They do a black one which I’ve heard is meant to be super hard ive heard. And the other end I used strong flex red as it matches the whole set up I have for both subframes etc.
@dancrayford87254 жыл бұрын
That's it! The one I'm referring to is Pff85-420R. For 'diesels', when I've looked into changing the dogbone previously the forums recommend this one for everyday use.
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
You know what I’ve never even looked into the lighter option, to be fair if your worried and it being too harsh a brand new stock one would work just as well as it would be nice and tight compared to a 70/80/90,000 mile one. Much like all the bushes stock is good when new, but like anything 17 years later is tired 😂

Great video! Just wondering do know what torque setting is needed when refitting the dogbone? I swear you mentioned it in your video but can't find which section of the video it was in. Thanks in advance.

Dog bone to subframe - 20Nm (15lb ft) plus 1/4 turn (90 degrees) dog bone to transmission - 40Nm (30lb) plus 1/4 turn(90degrees) just be careful as they can strip out of gearbox if you go too much Thanks DOm

i've done that same polybush swap...but now my car vibrates like hell when i accelerate (at low rpms). Any suggestion? beside changing back?:)
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
kicsipupi I have heard some say that the small round Bush causes this, personally mine doesn’t at all but that may be due to the fact that everything is polybushed 😂

i've done that same polybush swap today without the the small red/round one and my car also vibrates crazy. Did it become better in your case? Less vibration after some driving and soften up?

Would you say this is a good mod for DSG? I'm unsure whether the jolt when accelerating from standstill or on a hill is because the dogbone is worn or if it's just the original DSG character on my V6
@TheParrottBros2 жыл бұрын
You know what ive never fitted one to a dsg so couldn't say, i put a trans inset in on my audi s4 to reduce the movement and it made gear changes miles better and less jerky

Hi Dominic this is me again. As I told you I saw your video and taking into accout that the car is on stands for chage intercooler pipes after watching your video I decided also to change dogbone bussinghs. I have 2 doubts. 1) PFF85-505 : in the video this bush is red. I am searching to buy it and I see it is bue or purple colour ¿? 2) PFF85-420: you installed yellow ones. I was wondering if black series will be too hard. I installed them on my bmw 330d and I am very happy with the. I will change for shure the bolts. Any tip to avoid thred probles and need to put helicoils and so on?... I am litte bit affraid about that. Anyway check torques for each bolt in Elsawin Audi-vw software.
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
Hey fella, the bushes i used in the video, the red one is strongflex as came in a kit i had, based in poland it makes them more expensive to get delivered hence why i quoted the Powerflex option as same product just diff colour :). Bolt wise they should be fine unless they have had a hard life in the past, do one at a time and hope for the best, im sure they will be fine. i always like to cover all eventuality in my video so people know what they are getting into purple or black is your call, if you use it solely for track black is stronger, for road i would go purple, stronger than stock but not rock solid so provides comfort over black

The Parrott Bro’s thanks!!! I will order them inmediately. Hope to have big improvement. Yesterday I installed superslider from dieselgeek ( you have videos on youtube but firvsure you will hear about the) After that I make the gear box cables reset procedure and I noticed very big improvement. Very good diy job if you have not done it. Few weks ago I also changed bushing from gear shifter bushings (also from dieselgeek) Now The gears enter perfect!! Like a winchester! 😜 Hope ta dogbone bushing replacement also helps. Pending to change gear box oil ... never end stoy. Did you changes gear box oil? After 20 years it will be.... Regards!!!!

If you do the large one only its not too bad, if you do the small round one there is a small amount but it all depends what your using the car for / what you want out of it

I've seen polyurethane in RED, PURPLE, YELLOW and BLACK, what's the difference? are different colours used in different places? Great video series.
@TheParrottBros4 жыл бұрын
Purple and black are by ‘powerflex’, black is track and purple is road. The yellow and red are ‘strong flex’ similar set up, but strong flex only make certain bushes in one colour depending on what they recommend. Thanks for the kind words appreciate it
