Daily driving there’s really no advantage. Different rotors can benefit break performance when tracked though.

On 5:07, did those metal brackets come from the old brake pads? Also what was the grease you used to put it on the brake pad?

Yes the metal brackets came from the old pads. I don’t think they are necessary. I’ll probably remove them from mine. I use CRC Brake and caliper grease but any brake and caliper grease will work.

Yes I believe the size of the rotors is different.

The rotors just fit Over the lug stud and once you put the wheel on you torque the wheel to normal specs.

Very informative, do you think loc tite is needed on the threads of the bolts holding the caliper?

I don’t think I read about anyone using it for calipers. I didn’t use it and haven’t had any issues in 3 years.

I am swapping mine for the first time. Any tools recommendations or stuff I should look out for since I am doing this in a parking lot

The first time always takes longer than expected. At least for me it did. I did it a while back but the video should go through all the steps. Can’t think of any unmentioned tools. Beside just having a hard time with certain bolts coming lose it’s pretty straight forward following forums and this video. Good luck!

@@zrblogic5634 I think you slightly mentioned it while you were working on the back rotors and break pads. I also saw you had a dewalt ratchet. I am some what in a budget but would you recommend a dewalt ratchet & socket set fort he work? would it have all the sizes I need?

I definitely was on a budget as well. The dewalt set I got from Amazon. One of the cheaper ones for sure. I think I had to buy a separate set of larger sockets as well but you can find those at any auto store for pretty cheap. I would just google the process on forums. You can usually find very in depth DIYs. I think that’s where I found more info that helped when I was doing it.

i have to replace the rotors on my gt86 trd edition and it comes with the brembo brake package. do i have to get tha exact brembo rotor ? or can i get it from a different company ? if so which ones would fit , i would appreciate any help

There’s really no benefit. Like I said in the video I just love how they look and I have had them on previous cars. Some People will say they help with heat but that’s not really the case and even so that would only show results if tracking the car.
