I remember when Boom Town was a truck stop. It was great. We were there and the had a new western singer putting on a show. It was Reba Mcintire. Dr was really good. Food was good and cheap.I still have our caps with boom Town on them.

Martin, your experience with trucks has served you very well. You have intuition from your history in trucking. Not sure what your plans are for the engine but if it will be rebuilt, NO ONE else should be working on it but you. This week I saw another trucking youtuber show issues with his truck which points back at incompetent "mechanics" / "technicians". You and Alice are able to do the math on the time to fix it, buy new or buy used. I know almost nothing about diesel engines (little learned watching them being rebuilt on KZbin and your comments)_ Hopefully you are able to do what you really want to do with the truck to give you a more reliable truck in the shortest amount of time. As you know, time is money, you (and Alice) will make the right decision. I will be waiting to hear what you do. Best of luck! Cheers

Glad you were able to get the shifter. I have a 579 and they said I needed a new one and it was on national backorder for like 6 months. Fortunately they did a software update I was able to keep running until they got the new one in! Btw my door makes the same noise yours does!!

Yeah Boomtown truck guess I'm a old timer Alice where I would stop and get my log sheets put together on day 3 I would enter California. 2 days to go from Holland Michigan to Verdi NV and day 3 go over truckee scale and 4 to 5 hours later drop and hook in San Jose 2300 miles in 3 day's can't do that these days.
