yo this tool is the shit. makes changing sights a breeze. why spend a $100+ on another rear sight tool when this one is built just as well and works the same, if not better. Mad props to your company, my g19 is looking sexy with my trijicon HD night sights.

Purchased the VISM rear sight tool and have used it to adjust the rear sight on my 1911 Ai and have also used it to strip a Star BM upper that I purchased as an extra parts inventory. Removed the rear sight which allowed access to the firing pin retaining pin. This tool works great. Make sure that the pusher will clear the slide. When you tighten down the top anchor, the slide will tend to move up just a little. Allow for this before you start pushing the rear sight.
@eugenegress5896 Жыл бұрын
As I was Pushing that sight with the adjuster, you could easily check , how centered it is on the top of the slide , with calipers, or a simple machinist steel pocket ruler. The slightest human hand movements can throw off a pistol shot, so Why not get open sights as precisely aligned as possible, so as not to add more accuracy problems.

Great video! Very helpful for making sure I don't screw up my fresh G43

Be sure to oil the bits by both the lever and the toggle guy on the left for smoother action and.... not grinding up the threads. ALSO, throw a tiny bit of your gun lube at the sight. Makes that precision movement so much smoother rather than being upset by large jerky movements of the sight.

I ordered one to take the factory rear sight off a Springfield XD Tactical .45. It stripped out the screw. Ordered another one as it was understandable and worked perfectly installing the replacement sights. My reasoning on why I re ordered: #1. No question as return policy #2. I put the quality as middle. Good for people with several guns of there own or some buddies and will come in handy again. Not heavy enough for gunsmiths. #3. I only ordered the first one AFTER breaking punches, drill bits, using lubricant, vices ect and end the end had to use my freaking dremmel to cut in half to sight removed

I’ve been seriously considering buying this tool but I have to say the negative comments on eBay and Amazon make me a bit apprehensive. I’m on the fence , looks like a great tool. Someone complained about the top clamp scratching their gun 🤯
@ncstar3 жыл бұрын
If used correctly, there is no way it will scratch the slide of your gun.
@Z1LTCH9 ай бұрын
In the video, even you scratch the slide. You can clearly see it at 4:27. Wasn't there at the start of the video. When you hold the slide at the end, you tried covering up the big scratch blocking the view woth your hand. Should have just made a new video instead of trying to be deceptive.

I’ve only seen instructions to push rear Glock sights to the right to remove (as you did) but then replace it by installing from the right and pushing it in to the left. You installed from the left and pushed right. So my question is... does it matter? I know it appeared that you replaced it successfully, but I’m concerned about doing it correctly. Please advise.
@ncstar5 жыл бұрын
Please reference your firearms manual for proper sight installation. Our VTUPRS will work either direction you but you want to consult your pistols owners manual for correct sight removal and installation directions.

I purchased a new model #VTUFNR tool. How do I change the side clamp covers? It came with the stepped insert installed and two flat inserts in the carry case.
@ncstar9 ай бұрын
You just slide them out and replace them with the flat ones. If they're a bit tight, you can tap them out using a brass hammer and polymer punch.

What are the measurement tick marks(ruler thingy) for above the slide mover/on the blue frame? Is this supposed to be for centering help? Because if it is, then it is not explained anywhere. Even on the PDF.

The tick marks are only for reference. There's no specific way to use them. You can use them to center your slide, sights etc.

I just ordered your front/rear sight tool. Is there a specific direction of movement to install and remove sights?

That's dependent on the firearm. Some pistols do need sight removed/installed in a specific direction and some do not. You would need to check with manufacturer of the firearm.

The polymer inserts are there to prevent marring. It's always possible to scratch your slide but the polymer inserts minimize the likelihood of that happening.

Mine bent the heck out of the stock plastic Glock rear sight...is this normal? Also, got more of a gap under one end of the rear sight compared to the other side which looks flat up against the slide...what did I do wrong?
@davidgunther12822 жыл бұрын
You have to push it out from left to right, and in right to left. One way in, one way out. One end is actually larger than the other and if you get it wrong you could damage the sight which sounds like what happened to you.
@byronh77 Жыл бұрын
@David Gunther well he didn't follow that process installing this rear sight, he pushed it out correctly, but installed the sight left to right instead of right to left.
