Great video. Represents a lot of us RR owners, working on driveway, home made tools etc to get a job done. Good to see td6 content, same car as mine, not the fastest but good solid engines.

Thanks Richard , it’s part of the experience isn’t it . Bring great pleasure working on your own car . No they’re not , but quick enough for what they are . Totally agree , a brilliant engine 👍

Hi.. been there and done that and so much more..mines 05' and was well maintained beforehand and i haven't stopped replacing just about everything, they get to an age where they start to crumble and you have to be ontop of every bit of maintenance..but the bell@nd who designed that early type compressor adjuster shouldn't be allowed to design cardboard boxes let alone cars..terrible design, and it was deleted for a stretch belt on later td6s..keep vids coming.

I removed the viscous fan and the cover on my TD6 about 3 years ago never had any problems with overheating. It does give back a little power to the engine not having to turn the fan. Gives more room to work on other things as well.

I found there was hardly any room to get that fan off . The rest of it was straight forward

@@DrivewayHustlers I've always fancied an l322 diesel Westminster but all the reliability stories scare me what's your opinion and advice on getting one ? Thanks
@DrivewayHustlers
@DrivewayHustlers 2 жыл бұрын
Your right , there’s a lot of scaremongering when it comes to range rovers . Doesn’t matter what car you buy , they all break .. just some more than others . Depending on what you intend to use it for , if it’s going to be your daily driver then I’d say go for the diesel . It all comes down to the individuals budget and preferences ,how much you want to spend .. and are prepared to if something drastic goes wrong . Try and find one with a solid history & Get all the oil & fluid’s changed , prevention is better than cure 👍 However do consider a petrol if your only planning on using it as a 2nd car . Hope that’s helps , good luck and hope you find a good one 🤞

my 54 plate RR 4.4 damn near broke my bank, my heart and my marriage back in 2015 as it drained mega money from us and caused so many arguements. I had an ex-landrover mechanic friend that like you that worked on his drive and as he was my fixer it spent more time with him in the four years i had it than it did with us, so many things constantly went wrong including the same probs you are having, despite having the alternator rebuilt and fitting a new bosch battery, the flat battery problem never went away. Sadly in the end my money (and my wifes patients) ran out and i had to sell it for spares or repair. Loved the car but hated the never ending repair bills and regular tow home jobs, damn shame. good luck to you.

This is the problem with them , they can certainly swallow the cash .. and a lot of it !! I think it was a bad earth on mine , hence the battery drain . Not had any problems with it recently 🤞 cheers 👍

I’ll tell you who designed it, overpaid Design Engineers that had barely any experience using a spanner or socket set; and were told to just make sure everything would fit in the engine bay without any consideration for how the parts could be accessed afterwards. How do I know this, because I worked with some after their contracts had ended.
