Well the belt broke so I decided to change all the belts at once while I'm doing it. It wasn't bad but it will definitely be easier next time.

I changed the drive belt on my 2017 stander x, 52" cut. The easiest way I found was to change the idler arm bolt from the factory bolt, the 3 1/2 inch bolt to a 4 inch bolt. The half inch let's the idler pulley drop down below the wheel pump pulley. So much easier. I bought the bolt from ace hardware, a whole $1.70, worth every bit of the $, lol,. 4" long and half inch diameter. I also used a vice to compress the idler spring and zip ties to hold it compressed. After installing the belt and tightening everything. I cut the zip ties. Worked great!!!

@@Squarebodyshelley I was very aggravated at first. That bolt exchanged made it so much easier and help from my son also.

Does this prevent it from rubbing too as the belt stretches?

I sold the x after I changed it and went to the zk, so I don't know. After a belt stretches, so much I usually change them.

@@SquarebodyshelleyI own a wright 32. And last year got a jd 652r. No video info on model. But looked up wright 52 and found you. My 32 and the 652 are similar but different. Your walk thru allowed me to have an idea of the task. 2 day knocked out belts and sharpened the blades. I ran the clutch brace retaining bolts from the inside with nuts on deck. Seemed easier this way. Thanks for the video.

The diagram is actually on a sticker on the left side where the battery is placed .

Good info. I could have used this a two weeks ago when I attempted to change the drive belt myself but couldn't figure out how to get it off. I didn't know I needed to take off the clutch stop. I stopped at just replacing the two blade belts, and still need to go back and finish the drive belt. Do you have a part 2 of this with any additional tips? The only tip I would add, is that on the back of the battery case (on yours and mine) is the belt diagram. I found this after taking the time to draw mine out by hand.
@Squarebodyshelley4 жыл бұрын
I just looked it up real quick on the internet. Pretty easy to do but the clutch stop and wire need to come off. What info in a part 2 would be good? Always down to put out more information
@bsoneill34 жыл бұрын
@@Squarebodyshelley We didn't actually see you disable or assemble anything. Your explanation of where the two bolts for the clutch stop is good, but I would have liked to see you actually install the belt and reassemble the clutch stop. Like you said, it looks tricky. It took me few minutes to figure out the belt route (even though I had pictures and notes). Having a good video out there would be helpful.

How many hours did you have on the belt when it broke i have 450 right now
@Squarebodyshelley3 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure but I want to say right around 1200 maybe. I actually don't really pay attention to that when I have belts break. But maybe get one to have so you don't have to wait for the dealer to get one in, just incase they don't have one

Yeah just broke the belt on my new standard x 52...im looking at this mower along with the What The Fuck head scratch...i ordered the belt but its not the right belt..i think?..theres a long belt off the pullies but don't see a brake in belt..when i engage blades of course they don't spin but not sure what im looking at..im pretty mechanically inclined and am attempting myself cuz shops around here have a 3 week turn around..thats money,money..uuhh..mower has 200 hrs on it..id think these belts would last longer then this...help..lol..and same as you I got my Wright 36"...well.you know the hold up with that
@Squarebodyshelley4 жыл бұрын
The drive belt and blade belts are different. If the blades are not engaging then it's likely the blade belts. Super easy to replace but there are 2 of the on the 52" so maybe you got the wrong one?
