Hi sandy if you pull the stereo back out there will be a nother cable which will have an aerial connection on it that will give you radio and traffic alerts. You may need an adapter they are about 3 quid. If it’s female to female ends.

The metal bit is called a cage. Also you didn't do anything with the aerial so you won't get any radio.
