Hi Mike. I have Defender seats in my 109 and I have a clip or 2 that have broken, so I bought a couple new ones. The fix looked so complicated I immediately gave up. Thanks for the deep dive. At least now I know what I have to do. Thanks for all your videos. They are extremely helpful.

Yes, all meticulously planned. They are just wheeled out to do the job as directed and then replaced with another infiltrated 'leader'

Canada has been on a slippery slope since I came here (maybe a coincidence?) We have so many natural resources here, we should not have to pay any tax at all

Rivet nuts are very handy. Used them in all kinds of ways

I just did all of this yesterday trying to fix one of my seats. It's now sat on the shelf as a pile of bits as I need rivnuts to finish the repair. I also have no welder to fix the lose tabs that bolt to the seat base so they will likely be left be. As you say, It something not worth attempting just to replace those plastic bits, but oh well.

I guess those who designed the seats didn't factor in the amount of time you need to access the battery to fix shonky electrics...

I had the same issue. In the end, I wrapped some plastic backed butyl tape around the peg on the seat base and it now pushes in snug.

Yes, unfortunately designers don't worry about future repair jobs, it's as cheap and quick as they can make things work in the moment. Throw away and replace logic.

What lot of buggerising around just to make something the way it should have been from the factory.
