Changing your Sony TV input with the remote microphone button

In this video I show how to change video inputs on your Sony TV with the microphone button at the top of your Sony remote. One thing to note, this should work on most U.S. model Sony TV's. If your TV is not a U.S. model, this and any other features may not work. That is at Sony's discretion.

I'm connected to virgin tivo TV box (cable TV),everytime I pause or rewind or fast fwd that annoying black band pops down from top of screen,I'm getting real bored looking at it,how do I disable it,I know it's 1080p and it's connected to hdmi port 1 I don't need constantly reminded,please can you help TV is Sony KD-49XG8396 UPDATE I FOUND A FIX Go into settings on the virgin tivo box and into audio settings change the setting from dolby to PCM, solved the problem, now the info bar pops down just when you switch on the TV 📺 👍

Looking for help. How do I perform a factory reset on a 2011 Sony KDL 40X720? My USB port quit working and is giving me this message "“USB Device Detected. Note: Please make sure communications are complete before removing this device.” But the device doesn't show on the input list with the HDMI ports. Any help would be greatly apricated.

I think your model is KDL-40EX720. There most likely is an "E" before the X. You can find manuals for sony products at esupport.sony.com Here is a link to your TV manual (the EX720 Series). www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/W000/W0005712M.pdf There is no way that I recall to actually reset that TV, however you can get very close by starting the initial setup again from Sony. You can find that in the manual. Goto settings, preferences, then initial setup. I would suggest two things: 1) Connect TV to internet and check for software update. If the set is up to date on software and the problem is still there then do step 2. 2) Run the initial setup again. See if the problem is solved after that. If both of those don't fix it, there is some problem in the TV most likely. Very unlikely parts are available. 12 - 13 Years of life for a TV is very, very good. Hope that helps. How to set sony bravia tv power on default input source

I don't believe that is an option. Sony tvs will turn on to the last input they were in when turned off. The way around this is to switch the tv to the input you want it in when you turn it on. (Do this before you turn your tv off). I will check and update if it is different than this.

Inputs are the connections on back or side of the TV. Such as HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3, Video 1, USB1 and so on.
