Channel 9 Closedown (NWS-9, 13/7/1983)

Here’s a NWS channel 9 closedown from Wednesday 13th of July 1983 after the American Baseball League 50th Anniversary All-Stars Game. This has an Come along with Channel 9 Ident, This is Channel 9 message, On this Day, 5DN Message, Advance Australia Fair, Channel 9 Slide and Test Pattern. Taken from a Toshiba L-750 Betamax Cassette. my Dad found at a Salvos store for 50c which I converted to DVD. Please tell your friends about my channel and Subscribe. Hooroo! From my own research and observation, many. A few of them were even airing the Lord's Prayer at the close of the day as far as the mid-late 1990s!

interesting I didn't know channel nine closed down in 1983 I thought it was 24 hours by then

Well going back though old tv guides I think nws 9 at this stage on same nights going 24 hours but other times they were not from look of them it was 1985 went they to 24 hours every night

Only in Melbourne and Sydney back then.

NWS-9 was independently owned back in those days.. Same with STW-9 in Perth and I think QTQ-9 Brisbane. Thus why they were slow in adopting a 24-hour schedule.

Channel 9 Melbourne and Sydney were 24/7 hours from 1976. Brisbane from 1980 Perth from 1984 Adelaide from sometime around 1984-1985
