@bendonatier3 ай бұрын
This special encapsulates what tv was like in it's era, before streaming, before recording tv was widely available. Every show felt distinct, and often had enough of an episode count that any time you tuned in it was at least different. These days with streaming there are a lot of shorter run shows, that you're expected to enjoy in full, often focus tested and dialed in for a specific appeal, with standardized tools leaving a lot of it looking the same. You're never forced to watch an anime import because it's the only thing on, or flip to the network you love, only to see it's their "for very little" programing block. Make no mistake things are better now, but the way we consume media effects the way it is shaped. You can make a fine Pizza for a single person, small enough to still be healthy, but I'll always prefer a single slice of a full pie.

this movie had a great reference to an old anime dubbed in America @6:55 - This show is a parody of the Japanese cartoon Mach Go Go Go, known more popularly as Speed Racer, which involved a young race car driver and his family and his girlfriend. The absurd danger of the racing is parodied, as well as the main character's gadget-enhanced race car, and his relationship with a mysterious rival racer. Peter Fernandez (January 29, 1927, - July 15, 2010 (age 83 years) was an American actor, voice director, and writer. Despite a career extending from the 1930s, he is probably best known for his roles in the 1967 anime Speed Racer. Fernandez co-wrote the scripts, was the voice director, and translated the English-language version of the theme song.

Channel Chasers is the canon end of the timeline (a distinct concept from the canon end of _the show,_ I mean the Adult Timmy depicted at the end _is_ Timmy's true future, a well-adjusted adult with kids of his own). Out of everything Vicky had done, carving her name on the Nuclear plant in the Simpsons parody, and causing the toxic waste spill that possibly wiped out the town's entire population, may possibly be the worst thing she had done in my opinion. Sure, it may happened in a different reality, and were not sure if she intended or not to cause a massive toxic waste spill. But regardless, if given the chance, Vicky can and will commit mass eco-terrorism no matter how many people will perish due to her heinous crimes. And yet, Timmy still allows her to continue on being a babysitter.

One of the major themes of Channel Chasers was that it was a harsh reminder to Timmy that someday he will have to go on without Cosmo and Wanda. I do realize that this is a recurring theme of Fairly OddParents, but in this special it was definitely most poignant.
