GILLY!!!!! Always a pleasure Dan when you have Gilly on. Very interesting I must say and I love his answers on why he plays what he does.

That was great! Don’t always watch WITB vlogs but had to see this one. I have a 3 wood that isn’t going anywhere! Love that he doesn’t change just because he can. Golfers who change every year baffle me. How do you have any consistency when you’re always changing? Unless you’re a pro or playing a couple hundred rounds a year I don’t get it. Also like how he said tech hasn’t really changed much in 20 years. Marketing says it has, but tons of club reviews say otherwise. Enjoyed that a lot!

Such wise words about keeping a favourite 3W! Regret moving on my Callaway XR16 and have found nothing newer & more expensive to perform better in my hands.

Interesting bag that and lovely to see a museum piece as a putter! If it works, it works!

Always nice to see Gilly on the channel. The take away is only change your clubs when they make you a better player, not for just change sake, unless, of course, you just want new shiny things. Cheers.

Back in the 80s, that set-up would have been pretty standard, the only exception being the 60 degree which golfers never really had access to back then. Very much a links set-up with the old skool long iron.

Enjoyed visiting Chris's Pro Shop at Newquay and buying a pitchfork fork and Newquay GC ball marker for my grandson. Chris's assistant was very nice and helpful,, because the boss was away playing golf !!

Great to see an hear from Gilly , and the sentiment of doesn't matter about number on bottom of the club but what works for you . I am playing some Ping Eye 2 Copper I hit 5 iron when all my playing partners hit 7. Agree finding a wood that works for you I have a TM 5HL can hit it anywhere from 150 -180.

Love gilly my favourite guest on the channel. I play mizuno blades with traditional lofts and always just chuckle to myself when mates pay me out for hitting a 7 iron when they hit a 9. They’re the same lofts I always say haha

Good to what an ex tour pro carries in the bag. Some a surprise, mainly the irons, CBs i would have bet Chris was a MB type of player. Live and learn i suppose. The top of the bag no surprises there for me. The ball again i would have thought Tour or Tour x because they are so good in the wind and as anyone can atest newquay can get a little windy😂. Interesting stuff though👍

If ever there is a good point here, hang on to a putter you get on with however battered it gets. Think he said a while back he lost his Rife Barbados (similar putter) and wish he hadn’t.

Evening Kev. Nice one Dan. I’m always interested in what other players play with and why, especially good ones. I hope to get a fitting (whole bag) next year; is there anyone fairly local (South West) that you would recommend?

The whole thing about what number club someone else hits has been skewed for years by manufacturers deceiving golfers by changing lofts. There never used to be the need for gap wedges because there was no gap at that end of the set. Just as they used to start at a 1 iron which had the loft of a modern 3 or even 4 iron. It’s time manufacturers became honest and did away with club numbers and put the loft on the bottom of all their clubs not just on wedges!

Yes getting old sucks! Gone soft everywhere. Shafts and balls.
