This will amplifiy the signal the same as a pre-amp. Any amplifier will amplify the signal but they are used for different reasons. The pre-amp (some call this a booster) is used to boost the signal from the antenna to the distribution amp, which then amplifies the signal to overcome any losses due to long cable runs, but they do indeed amplify the signal. I know this for a fact due to my location and setup. I have a pre-amp and a distribution amp and they both amplify the signal.

The CM7777HD has bad reviews are far as life expectancy. One of mine went bad in the first hour of use. I've used both powered and non powered splitters, and noticed some signal loss with the non powered splitters, but it did not seem to be a 50 percent reduction.

You know of a good splitter/combiner to use to run 2 signals down 1 coax behind the TV? I just installed a second antenna with a second drop so I now have 2 cables coming into the living room. I wanted to prevent as much signal loss as possible. One antenna is on the rooftop and one is in the attic. In total I am going to need to have the 2 antenna signals go to the living room TV and the kitchen TV. I put a dual jack in the wall in the living room where the 2 coaxes come in so they aren't combined when they get there. l have a jack in the wall in the kitchen where the wire runs from the living room to the kitchen. One antenna (the one closer to broadcast towers aka attic antenna) doesn't have an amplifier as of just yet. I still need to mount it. It can still pull in channels pretty decent. I'm not sure if I need to get an amp yet or not but I know there is no place to plug it in up in the attic. I have the 7778 but I think it went out. If I remember, the powered coax lights up blue on the ends. Am I correct? I ordered a new one. I'll be glad when it gets here so I can work on it.

Hey Danny I had a thought regarding the black RCA type amplifiers. It would not require any more coax to try this. I know the amplifier should be as close to the antenna as possible but I had a thought. If you put them at the bottom of the mast they would be much easier to service connectors or replace amplifiers in the future. I suspect that would work on the powered splitter also. It would be easy to test on your next install if you had a 26 ft jumper handy. I believe I recall you saying your mast that you use is 26 ft or naturally just 26 ft coax in the front yard between the amplifier and the antenna

Great instructions, Danny on the RCA amplifier, are there several of these to work with? , regards,

I thought one going out connect's to the power amp inside then to the TV, and the other to simply to another TV. Then one feed in from antenna. That's what I understand about the distribution amp he's using.

Hey Danny. Love your videos. Have you thought about using HDHomeruns for your customers? We use HD Homeruns at our house and we can pick up channels anywhere there is a Roku.

Do you have to run the little line booster that comes with the rca amplifier when using the channel master or no.

I would like a answer about that also. I'm sure it depends on your setup. Maybe Danny will comment?

Danny, are you aware the FCC is changing the TV channel range to 2-36 leaving the higher channels for cellular? Channels above 36 will have to be mover to another channel. It has already happened in my area and now one of my indoor antennas (your single bowtie) is not working as good as it use to. I changed over to your TURBO indoor to continue getting the new channel.
