Good draft! Match 2 Game 3: I think Reid forgot Asylum Visitor had text. Making two rats a turn would stall that board even with an incoming overrun, they won't want to lose all their best creatures for 12 damage with you at 23. And maybe you draw ruinous path or whip of erebos and problem solved.

I'm glad you drafted that deck, I love it. Spoiler: I still remember, a while ago, Paul Cheon forcing mono black in a cube just to probe that it was'nt better than his favorite arquetype: control blue/x. He easily 3-0, if I remember correctly. Keep the cube videos coming, and thanks for the content.

This is a bitter / sweet moment for me. On the one hand, I'm happy mono black is getting some recognition because it's a very good deck (3-0d in my first draft with it, next two drafts I "forced" it because science and 3-0d both) but on the other hand, I'm sad because now people may actually take my black cards 😢

I think the deck needed one more land, so many mulligans off land light hands. Plus a swamp is usually a good draw in a deck with crypt ghast and pack rat

At 1:03, what about hexmage, float 4, sac it to kill Gideon, then BSZ away his board and play pack rat? I think you still lose to whisper wood but at least you get oracle off the board and you get two cards a turn going off visitor the next turn if you madness it out and play the swamp.

You should read Whisperwood Elemental's sacrifice ability. It essentially counters the spell. It would refill his board instantly.

Heh, can't beat them, join them, amiright? I think in the match against the second opponent that you lost you should have tried to splash silumgar in. Stealing one of those walkers would be game ending. Unfortunately I think you didn't know from game one that they were playing that many walkers.
