Hey Caleb, something that would be realy nice is some table top algamancy gameplay with some game knights like editing explaining what the cards do and what is happening in the game, it would really help engage people that aren't familiar with the mechanics and cards (basicaly everybody at that point haha)

Pack 2 there was Zirda, which combos with Grim/Basalt Monolith to make infinite mana

yeah Zirda is alright. In general I'm really not a fan of the narrow two card combos though. Infinite colorless is mostly only good with retrofitter foundry or ugin and Zirda doesn't do anything else in our deck outside of the combo.

Yeah Jeskai colors are the best for artifacts, partially because enlightened tutor to help find the combo or the finisher for the combo (something like ballista)

Not picking up or even looking at that zirda when you had 2 infinite mana combo and a retrofitted foundry physically hurt to watch.

Caleb palentir is a good shell for a kaboom style deck or a high cmc control wincon, the call card is a card draw engine for life if you have a reasonable amount of creatures.

It always baffles me how someone can play an artifacts deck (even if it's primarily for ramp) and underestimate Saheeli. Not only does she make bodies for shoring up the early game of control and ramp decks, she can turn *any* artifact token you have into something bigger/more impactful. Example: She can turn the servo she creates from casting Basalt Monolith into a second Basalt Monolith. Or copy, say, Inferno Titan. And for Retrofitter Foundry she makes a servo when you cast it, so you can get much faster benefit. She is so underappreciated.

With Algomancy out. Do you have plans on improving Power Synergy Cube or creating a new one? Or if you were to create anything would you put your energy into Algomancy?

I will probably just be putting my energy into Algomancy. There are a lot of fundamental things about MTG that just limit how much I can really do with the powered synergy cube to make the gameplay experience better. Mana screw, flood, requiring at least 8 people to get games going, solitaire-like gameplay are all somewhat unavoidable problems. So I'd rather put my time into something where my efforts can actually make the gameplay experience better for people, and something that doesn't cost tens of thousands of dollars for someone to buy, so more people can enjoy it.

@@CalebGannonas much as i appreciate your cube and the thought that went into it, and while i enjoy many aspects if it, playing it has been the most solitaire like experience i have had in mtg. and i’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing - many people love that kind of combo gameplay, hence the cube’s popularity. but i would note that your cube in particular may exacerbate that issue, if you do find it an issue as your comment implies.

oh I absolutely agree that is a problem with the cube. But that's because the high synergy cards in MTG are designed for that sort of gameplay. It's almost impossible to make a cube that is high synergy and high interaction, largely due to the card designs and the way card advantage works in the game. The more removal and interaction you add, the less synergy can survive. Also just the MTG turn structure lends itself to that sort of gameplay style too of "I do my thing" then "you do your thing". This is just inevitable with a back and forth turn.

is Algomancy a good game for the casual board gamer (monopoly, settlers of catan, etc), or does it favor players that enjoy a more competitive environment?

Algomancy is more aligned for people who enjoy something deeper than Monopoly. We do have a new player onboarding plan that allows it to scale the complexity down to teach newer players at that level who are interested in getting into deeper games, but the game is best for people who are interested in eventually getting to explore the depth of the game and uncover some of the crazier synergies and interactions. It's a game that's meant to be played hundreds or thousands of times and get better every time you play it rather than once on a Friday night, if that makes sense.

It's available on Tabletop Simulator, Tabletopia for free and there's a $5 print and play option through the Kickstarter. If things keep going well, I should also be able to make a proper digital client for it too (I think I'll need to raise around $300k to make that happen).

25:05 i'm fairly certain they had infinite draw with the combo,and that's why they complained about time; they could do the combo,but it would be way too long. Still think you were winning anyway,cuz infinite draw isn't that scary
