That's a lovely thought. I'm sure that if you do some googling you should find charities looking for hosts. Someone across the road from my mum gave country holidays to children from inner cities for years, another friend hosted people for The Medical Foundation for Victims of Torture and gave them and often their families a holiday out of hostel accommodation in the city. Good luck with your good intentions! 🥰🕊️

This video is a perfect example of why children end up being drug runners or dealers. Grow up with nothing and you can become vulnerable to the idea of quick money, therefore more at risk of being groomed by high end dealers. If a young kid gets offered 100 a day when they've grown up in poverty then most will snatch that chance

I agree but again comes down to education, support and parental guidance Easy money has bad consequences and they need to realise that It’s all just a vicious cycle and I feel it’s just a blame game where ppl end up moaning and whinging as opposed to actually doing anything about it Action needs to be taken not them being spoon fed everything even though they are They don’t have to pay for a lot of things someone who doesn’t have benefits do so there’s absolutely no excuse for lack of opportunities If you see they moan about about a bigger house whereas given their situation financially they should appreciate having a roof and being kept safe they should be being taught that so they can appreciate what they do have and work hard for a better future for themselves

Many people start off with a job, a home and good health, but any of these things can change at any time due to circumstances beyond their control. I don’t care what religion a person is, what county they come to the UK from children are children, innocent and dependant. It’s heart wrenching to see these little people suffering instead of enjoying being kids and their youth which should be their best years. Rental prices are scandalous in the UK and should be capped. Food prices cost of living it’s literally unmanageable when you work let alone when you can’t. Everybody’s situations is different but at the end of the day it’s these little babies who are feeling the pain and it’s this which turns young people in to drug dealers, runners and to crime. The knock on effect from such living conditions can continue way in to adulthood and beyond often affecting one’s mental health. We need change right now to alter the future for our next generation and beyond. There’s a section of this video with a little boy on the park crying, I don’t care who you are, that will touch a nerve for anybody who witnesses it. No child anywhere should ever suffer over something as simple as basic living. Tonight when I sit down for a meal I’ll as usual think of all those out there who won’t have that, this disturbs me an awful lot. I pray for change although I’m pretty optimistic about the possibility..

Kasim’s older sister is incredible, I can’t believe she’s only 13. To have those financial fears at that age is just devastating. My mum was a single mum with myself and my younger brother and we struggled but I was never made aware of it. I was the same age as Kasim’s sister when we became a one parent family and I think I was so lucky to be sheltered from my mums worries. When I look back, all I can think of is how proud I am of my mum for allowing my brother and I to stay children for as long as we did. We were poor but blessed. I cried for these beautiful children, they’re not only robbed of little luxuries but robbed of their childhood too. This should never happen in a country as rich as this, it’s heartbreaking.

I understand what your saying and it sounds like your mum did an amazing job. We do live in a “rich” country where the “little luxeries” that these families have that a 3 Rd world countries would give anything for are 1. Food banks 2. Charity help 3. Free education - huge luxury many kids would do anything. For 4. Free housing - a lot of ppl in other country’ssleep on the street 5. Free money ie universal credits which consist of child benefit So I think it’s all perspective This is a rich country and it is doing a lot but only if you see past a luxury life and can these families can actually see what they are getting Tell them to live in a 3rd world country for a week and they won’t come back unappreciative rather prob motivated to do better Everybody is so caught up with keeping up with the Jones’s that they think their life is so bad Stop comparing to other people, the government which takes our taxpayers money looks after you Of course your not going to get get everything on top of the basics if you did then why would anyone work? Why would anyone bother doing anything Of course human instinct would be to take the easy route If you want luxuries work hard and take the hard route

I am coming from Bulgaria. There was no universal credit, no housing and even now is very little help, but at 15 I was already working hard the land that had little money value but gave us food. In Eastern Europe not many are waiting for the government to step in and replace parents responsibilities. By 20, if you are not coming from a wealthy family, you know how to run a household, basic plumbing, carpeting and you work from the dawn until dusk. Channel 4 should do a similar documentary in Eastern Europe so they can learn a thing or two about poverty.

It used to be the case that people traditionally at risk of ending up on the streets were running away from abusive relationships, struggled with mental illness, or had substance abuse problems. This is no longer the case. Even relationship breakdowns didn't previously cause homelessness as housing was affordable, even for a single-earning household. The cost of living is now so high that people struggle to get on the housing ladder without the privilege of someone helping them out, either by letting them stay with them for very low rent or by helping them with a deposit. This puts poor people at the mercy of landlords who have the right to sell their property with a month's notice or raise rents consistently over time. It also used to be the case that if you worked full time, you could pay rent, bills, food, save for emergencies, and still have enough money left over to go on holiday. 14 years of Tory rule has seen the biggest reduction in the quality of life in 150 years. People need to understand that everyone is at risk of homelessness and poverty if made redundant or they become seriously ill or have a serious accident due to the cost of living crisis. I don't understand why people are so quick to blame people desperately struggling when they should really be pointing the finger at the government.

To some degree. Bad parenting, lack of guidance, love, lots of factors in place. If they were raised in better circumstances they would have turned out better. Kids shouldnt be to blame for their actions, their parents should for allowing their child to ever believe its acceptable to act in any ill manor✊🏾 if my kid grows up and leaves the house with a knife and kills someone, i failed as a parent. I allowed my child to be exposed to SHIT am the only one to blame for them being Shit people. You want your kid to be good, earn their respect. Should you be automatically entitled to money because you are on drink, or are on drugs? Should you be automatically entitled to money because you opened your legs and had 2,3,4,5 children? Should you be automatically entitled to money if you play the mental health card? I won't judge anybody but when more of society are on drugs and then claim mental illness years after, genuine people in need fall behind because the system is just overwhelmed with claimants rising by the hour.

There's no reason why parents can't work. I dont know if the system has changed now, but I worked after I had my youngest daughter. I didn't have to, but I worked many jobs whilst my daughter went to nursery. I worked in between the times of her nursery. You can work between school times and look for help for care between these times. You can ask for help to look after your children whilst you're at work. There is no excuse not to work. It's harsh, I know, but I've done it. The first lads step dad, what's he doing? Is he working? My middle son struggled at school, and I helped him get to be in a better place. Helped him with his English at the time and school projects. We moved from England to Wales, he went to college and then studied at university. He now has a degree in computer science and also works with good money. He lived with his dad for a while when he was younger. His dad was a bit of a bum back then, didn't want to work, and suffered with mental health. So he didn't do too well at school. I worked all hours for my kids. Why can't others do the same? Don't suck on the benefits, work!

I grew up through the 60's and 70's hungry, thin and picked on, considered an outcast because my parents were poor. and society with the government, kept us there. How my poor Father suffered just for us as a family with only condemnation from my Mother due to having to live in poor housing, vehicles, tents, caravans etc, and the worry of where to move next with little to no finances. Schools even rejected us and the ones we actually went to became a fear zone as bullying and nonrecognition of educational needs seemed to be the way of life due to the stupidity of others. No child should have to go through what I went through, this is supposed to be the 21st Century.

They could also not have so many kids and then they wouldn't have to split what money they do have between so many mouths...

This is heartbreaking, those poor kids we shouldn't let this happen its 2024 not the 1980s. 35:00 I'm sorry but the mother not bothering to learn English is not helping there case or the kids

@odd_shoes it's not horrible it's a simple point. And if u have never heard someone say I'm sorry at the start of a point then what rock have u been living under

My heart breaks for every child in this situation. I was in this situation as a child but I didn't really know it. My dad was a very hard working farmer, I knew we didn't have much but I didn't know how bad it was. I live in the states so life here is a bit different. Do the king and queen not deal with issues like this? It's very weird to me to have a royal family living the way they do while so many kids in the country are going threw this. I just dont understand it I guess. But Lord bless all these children and I really hope their country can better get the housing situation figured out.

The Royal family are just figureheads. They are not allowed to have any political power. That said, they are some of the wealthiest people on the planet and like most rich people, they want to stay that way. It would be marvellous if they were able to not only influence the government to build lots of good quality Social housing and stump up some of the money to get that project going, but that is sadly never going to happen. I very much doubt the Royals or our immensely wealthy Prime Minister even watched these documentaries when they came out.
