Why spend £200k though? If you're willing to forego space, £60k gets you a narrowboat and £40k gets you a static caravan, both so much more cheaper to construct and run, oh and lets not forget, narrowboats get you an ever changing garden

@Jake Hughes thank you for your condolences Jake, that so sweet of you to take your time to write to me. My granddad was such a phenomenal man and because of that I’m so sorry to hear that you never got the chance to meet or know yours, and essentially all the times you missed out with him. I’m sure if he was around he would have made a wonderful and positively long lasting impact on you!

@@KandyBabes that’s really kind of you to say, too! Sadly he passed away when my dad was only 14, but I’ve heard plenty of stories to make me feel some kind of connection with him. My other grandparents either passed away when I was really young or was too ill to get to know properly by the time I could hold a conversation with an adult. You’re most welcome for the comment - I’m sure we both know how toxic the internet can be so it’s nice to be positive to one another. Seeing your message to begin with struck a chord with me: very real, and showed that your granddad had a great impact on your life.
@KandyBabes
@KandyBabes 3 жыл бұрын
@Jake Hughes aww I’m really sorry to hear that, but glad that your family were still able to honour their memories in sharing stories with you and helped you form a connection though they are no longer here. As you’ve picked up my granddad was very special to me, our family and pretty much everyone who knew him. The eulogies given at his funeral were a great testament and reminder of what an amazing person he was and the impact he had in our community. In all honesty with you Jake it still doesn’t feel real that he’s not here anymore. At times it feels like a day, others like a lifetime, but I guess that’s the process of grief. And yes I couldn’t agree more with you, the internet can be such a horrible and demoralising place at the best of times so I’m glad that our paths somehow crossed here on this comment section. I wish you well in all that you do and hope that you and yours are staying as safe as possible in mind body & soul though all the madness in the world right now 💕

@Nightbird.
@Nightbird. Жыл бұрын
Hi Rohani, Most realtors also sell land plots to build on. But you have to research the area to make sure they allow the type of home you want to build..that the land is safe to live on..etc. It's easier if you want to live in a rural area..but if you want to live in a neighborhood they tend to be much stricter about what type of homes they allow. Many won't allow homes like this to be built because they are afraid the home will decrease in value..unlike a regular home..and that will bring property values down. And neighborhoods that do allow this type of home to be built may not be the most desirable places to live in terms of safety and security.

@@Nightbird. You must be blessed to not know many Indian men. @Rohani vlogs bad attitude is very typical of Indian men in the UK. They feel very entitled and just want to take without giving anything back. They are some of the laziest, rudest and nastiest people you will ever meet. Indian women on the other hand tend to be hard working and wonderful, and many of them support their good-for-nothing Indian husbands. As a business owner I will happily employ Indian women, but never an Indian man.

Nothing wrong with steel. Thermal breaks can be managed, and the result is lighter and more fireproof than steel. That said, modular home construction in Canada is quite common, and you’ll find units made with standard lumber as well as steel. Transport of wood structures isn’t a problem. I’ve built foundations that have had 4 modules placed over a walk-out basement, and you’d never know it was factory built.

£220k, modest? Modular housing used to be all about low cost, & speed of construction.........like the millions of prefabs built after WWII! If this house is considered 'low-cost', then the Govt had better lift the minimum wage to around £20-£30 per hour, so we can afford their idea of 'affordable' housing!!😲

Well said, James! 😉👍 This lovely couple was obviously wealthy compared to most. And in all honesty..this home probably cost less than $50k to make..especially when you compare it to prices of lodge homes being sold in retirement parks..which have identical/similar building practices. I feel sorry for our youth. They are all going to end up living in tiny apartments crowded next to each other with no sense of privacy or ownership. And you can bet if they raise the minimum wage the prices of homes will go right up with it so that future generations will never get ahead due to greed. As an American..I would like to retire to Scotland in a couple of years..but I'm truly afraid I won't be able to afford to find or build a brick home with a bit of land for privacy/gardening due to these escalating prices. 😕
