I happened upon this video by chance. This was 10 years ago. I do not think multiculturalism has worked out well for Western society. Since there have been quite a few Jihadist incidents in Western cities, I would venture to say many people who are not Muslim would be frightened if they saw a person wearing a full burka a hajib and a niqab with only their eyes visible. This might work well for Muslim women in traditional Muslim countrues where this type of dress is the norm, but not in mainstream Western society. Whatever happened to When in Rome do as the Roman's do? I think respecting the norms of a society puts the majority of the people more at ease. Furthermore, as far as schools are concerned, educators found that certain types of garb are distractinfg to the students and incite behavioral problems. Hence, uniforms for students are now becoming more of the norm.

Its a great opportunity to redesign the muslim women's dresses. For an example we just saw the Nigerian women in the news recently who are Muslim and they dress beautifully they are well covered, most of them are. Their hair is wrapped up. They certainly are dressing modestly and I think it's lovely. The clothes are designed not to reveal the woman's shape and from head to toe they are covered. They're not wearing a tent when they can be carrying all kinds of stuff underneath it with their arms hidden. It's not about being Muslim it's about the burqa.

I think the biggest issue is that in Western culture we read mannerisms, facial expressions and this forms either trust or no trust between people. I myself watch how people interact with others and their behaviour before interacting with them and barring this will decide whether or not I wish to engage. This is how I am in general with all humans and this is why others don’t feel comfortable interacting with a black sheet and a voice, we need interaction where we can see a person. This is not what it means to be human, we are born naked - we should be feeling the sun on our skin, we should be able to smell the fresh air and to be able to swim in the ocean and lie on grass with nature on our bodies. It’s super strange to me that one would hide from this privilege when they can be free.

It is not at all incredible. They are brainwashed to support and promote Islam and its expansion before everything else. If we today talk about nazism, fascism or communism, do we invite exponents of these totalitarian ideologies to talk about how great they are. No, we know that these ideologies are totalitarian and deeply repressive. Why do we give any space to Islam, which is at least as bad as any of the three murderous ideologies referred to above?

That's not the reason they left those places. They left due to the White rule and Mughal War time when Caucasians came and stole Diamonds (Queens Crown stolen diamond from India Pakistan) Stole gold, imposed slavery and imposed their rules (the red book) After this it was only fair to allow us to come to 'your country' and may I add it is majority of the Muslim population that work and serve the country in many ways - NHS, even Oxford University Mathematics Research was founded by Muslims and the list can go on and on Educate yourself and stop spreading spite and learn to have a more accepting heart If it's okay for people to change their genders and 'Free the Nipple', essentially roam naked, then Equally is should be absolutely accepted to want to cover up. And we do so for the sake of our Lord, if you want to learn more about why exactly we do that then I recommend downloading a copy of the Holy Quran in English and then perhaps you'll appreciate why and how we practice our faith as Muslim women.

@soundbite2906 жыл бұрын
This was not the norm 20 years ago. Yasmin is right, this has been imported very recently for political reasons. It is not a requirement in Islam, and not worn by the majority worldwide. Also wearing a turban, headscarf etc. is not the same as the niqab. It's common sense. Covering the face is a barrier. And if a man wore a balaclava, he would be stopped and searched. We live in a secular society. Rules have to be fair for everyone. Many Muslims have also spoken out and said the niqab is a barrier to society. I don't care about headscarves, clothes etc those are completely fine, but your face must be visible for security reasons. I live in Italy, and people (ANYONE natives and immigrants alike every religion every culture) are not allowed to go outside with their faces entirely covered for safety reasons because police need to be able to recognize people in security footage etc. For example I like to do cosplay but I could get in trouble if I decided to just wear a carnival mask that covers my entire face and go around in public. I do it at events like comic-on where police and security personnel are present to maintain safety for everyone. Same thing for everything that covers your face, religion doesn't make an exception.

The oppression IS the veil. No child would choose to wear a veil that is the evidence it is irrational.
@eepyru Жыл бұрын
orrr maybe you could stop to think about why that could be? being accompanied by a man is not always oppression lol. many muslim women especially in the west prefer to go outside with a mahram or in other words a male guardian. in Islam it's a woman's right, she can ask a mahram man to accompany her and protect her while travelling / going outside whatever, and the man must not deny without a valid reason because Allāh has made it obligatory upon men to protect women. in the west where there's a risk that muslim women especially niqabis can be harmed or treated badly because of the way they dress it makes a lot of sense. i'm a niqabi woman who lives in a muslim country so usually i don't have to worry much but surely if i ever moved to the west (which i don't want to lol, just saying) i would ask my father or my brothers to accompany me while i'm outside, especially since i would feel so unsafe there lol. yep you never saw those women alone because they most likely don't feel safe as niqabi women. i agree that some women are heavily controlled by their male guardians (not a part of Islam), but that's a minority especially in the west honestly as much as people want to make it look like it's a majority. did you ever talk to those niqabi women? probably not, so don't make silly assumptions but i also understand why you think this way about us! :D

What a pity the same respect is not shown to the UK! Many Brits regard the full face veil in all its forms to be offensive and scary looking and this goes for any inappropriate items of clothing worn by anyone in our country. It is also a security risk in a public place cos if a crime is committed by someone wearing such garb how would the police identify the criminal by CCTV or description of person?
