What an example of a truly footballer's heart! Dolly Parton also has a project in the US I guess to give books to kids and create the reading habit since early infancy. He seems well intended and smart (governments come and go, societal changes depend only on people) in a world in and out the field so full of people doing "charity" to make money and self-promotion. God bless him and who made him like that. Maradona has a disciple in him - never forget where you belong. A genuine number 1. Community libraries should be as popular as grocery stores and added to Food Banks where they exist. That's why I have great respect for the people of UK - despite its history and govt (no country can be proud of itself) - you lead the world in culture and popular movements. Thanks. Congratulations for Rashford, will he write a book about his life and world vision?, he seems to have a good sense for what it is important. Is he already an UNESCO ambassador? He deserves it and UN needs it. Sampa/SP, Brazil, 24/may/2021 - 16h57 (-3GMT).

I have nothing but respect for Marcus Rashford off and on the pitch. He knows what its like to grow up in poverty and see poverty around him. I grew up in poverty, i was 11 when my story made it in the court for a custody battle and evidence unseen and never before documented like this, i suffered from age 4 years old with crude abuse to age 11 only to move with my father and go through 4 years with him of abuse. I helped change the child abuse laws in UK, more so Manchester during the early 90s. What disgusted me his how this government as treated me since 16 years old knowing my background and kept me under thier thumb and helped destroy my life over many reasons which had a richochet affect with family and myself and all this mess had me homeless countless times. I saw countless children in Greater Manchester ina paper years ago paid huge amounts of compensation, were im still in poverty and now partially disabled at 40 years old. My evidence is still used to this day and no doubt shed many tears, hats off too him i wish i had the love and support back then even from this shithole country but i became a easy target for the system to ruin. I hope oneday Marcus is Knighted, we need more people like him in this world to look out for those children who go through struggle, trust me being through it and still living with depression and been through suicide and survived, imagine how many children go through this and dont make it.

I’m not sure what problem John has with an award with reference to the British Empire but this footballer man is a role model for his community, becoming successful and giving back, that’s very honourable

Has he not heard of libraries, or buying perfectly good second hand books from charity shops? Free or cheap reading material, not to mention the Libby app where, with a library card, you can access books, comics and magazines. Sadly, we live in a society where people want to be babies, they can't afford to feed, clean or take care of themselves or their kids. It seems that the only thing that isn't got poverty at the end of mobile phones. I'm a child of a single mother and I grew up with a huge love of books from my mother, nor did I go hungry even though food was far more expensive in real terms then, but, we didn't have roomful of toys, devices didn't exist, so my mother budgeted differently because she had no choice. Children not reading is partly the fault of the parents and not at all the fault of the government.

1. He doesn't excel on the field. He's average at best, which is frustrating because I think he is naturally talented but he isn't getting the best our of himself. As an Englishman this is even more disappointing because he could be good for our national team. 2. Apparently he reads, yet he can't pronounce "schedule" correctly. He's a nice guy and seems very humble, which is always respectable, but as a player he is not reaching the standard that he could. This if of course partly down to management.

Every athlete has a bad day regardless of how hard they train. Michael Jordan didn’t win every championship in 19 years of basketball. Muhammad Ali lost 5 fights. Simone Biles hasn’t always won gymnastics competition but they’re all considered greats. And some of the British politicians (Natalie Elphick) have other jobs and won’t feed British kids. So maybe go after the politicians to do their job so athletes won’t have to feed Britain.
