A piece crap for those whom think kids shouldn't deserve the meals. We are talking about kids who did not choose who their parents are to be. You can blame the parents for all you want, but these kids are innocent. Just because you have worry free childhood do not equate to you being successful. Credits only to your parents. And these kids they aren't even of legal age to work. What you expect them to do to feed for themselves? Steal Rob? So if you can't even have this simple bit of empathy, you are just indifferent to those politicians.

All professional footballers earning a million a month should pay a tax to pay for free meals
@rgsnr87024 жыл бұрын
Maybe the millions of pounds they all earn each month along with the legal but immoral tax avoidance schemes their accountants dream up should help to fund it ,as very likely it is those very parents and their kids who sacrifice a lot to support their clubs, those cost of which have spiralled over the last 10 years due to the obscene pay demands of those very same footballers ,this is virtue signalling at its worst , if it means so much do something about it not just insist the government sort it out while you hold onto your vast wealth ,its pathetic

I agree 💯
@JJMU814 жыл бұрын
The same Marcus Rashford who has already raised £20million already for the cause? And why should it be down to sports stars, actors etc. to solve these issues? The government is there for a reason, to help protect the vunerable and they weren't doing it. This isn't just some cheap posts on instagram or a celebrity sing-a-long, he went about it the right way and thankfully it has worked. How anyone can find a negative out of this is beyond me! The only thing pathetic about all this is your view
@ndz17484 жыл бұрын
He worked his way out the mud, good for him he should keep every penny he worked for it. Not everyone can make it as a footballer. It’s the bottom feeders of society who look to up the food chain for a hand out like it’s rightly yours
@rgsnr87024 жыл бұрын
@@JJMU81 what 20 million ,some PR virtue signalling events while they do not pay taxes that are morally due, the government could spend it on such things ,we pay our taxes by PAYE and pay every penny due they dont and you praise them for it, it will cost the taxpayer a 120 million+ for the meals vouchers, it only cost him a letter and a first class stamp ,dont get me wrong this arrangement should be permanent from the off having been brought up on a council estate and relied on free school meals and know its importance ,and as i said their salaries are paid for in good part by those fans that have to find the money to watch their teams and if you want to see real hardships go and research just what many do give up to do that ,and i do not mean the middle class fans
@JJMU814 жыл бұрын
@@rgsnr8702 Where are going getting all this information from about him not paying taxes? Do you have access to his accounts or something? It appears you are just plucking things from thin air to make your argument seem credible. We both agree, this arrangement is the right one and you have the experience to know why what Rashford acheived is important for now and the future. I just don't understand how what he has done can be turned into a negative towards him. I've read it in many places, people just jumping on the term "virtue signalling". As I said, this wasn't a bunch of A-listers making a John Lennon sing-a-long video, claiming they are providing happiness to the world and that everything will be ok. That acheived nothing but ridicule. What Rashford did was help raise money and make the government even more aware of a pressing issue. It lead to a positive change and he should be commended for it. I can't see why anyone would think any differently.

Why are people celebrating the fact that people now have less incentive to better themselves ! Next it will be the Christmas holidays because it's a struggle to buy Xmas presents AND give your kids a Xmas dinner. Free Xmas dinners all round. A very big mistake with good intentions behind it.
@JJMU814 жыл бұрын
Less incentive to better themselves? You mean parents who did any job to make ends meet but were forced out of work due to this pandemic. They may not have had the opportunity to be furloughed. There will also be a very small percentage of families that don't do themselves any favours and sit around waiting for handouts but that isn't the children's fault. Are we just going to let a generation of kids suffer and not get the nutrition they need? A very big mistake??
@jonnyhost37954 жыл бұрын
@@JJMU81 What do the summer holidays have to do with a pandemic ? Where everyone suffered !
@JJMU814 жыл бұрын
@@jonnyhost3795 It's simple, in summer the kids are not at school so don't have access to free hot meals or snacks that are provided at their school, if they qualify. It's down to the parents who may have suffered a big loss of income due to pandemic to try and feed their children during the summer holidays. There is always suffering and people relying on foodbanks, the goodwill of friends and neighbours etc.. but again, due to lockdown, kids haven't been able to go around to a friend house and benefit from a kind parent making them some food, for example. Everyone has suffered from this but as we start to slowly ease out of lockdown, we need to ensure those that need the most care, receive it. I don't get why you think this is a "very big mistake". Why exactly?

@@JJMU81 What about people who work, who have to find money for extra child care during the summer holidays ? Extra food too ? Who pays for that ! You ? Me ? No they do. Why is everything given to those who do the least. I just understand it. Everyone suffered in the pandemic. The lockdown is over and when the children are off and people are back at work full time, who pays for the extra child ? Who ? There is just no incentive to work at all.
