in the opium wars, China wanted to end the opiate trade because it knew its devastating effects, but the British refused, and protecting their actions as usual with the myth of the "free market" they went to war against China on several occasions to be able to continue trading opium and exporting it to Europe and America. There are the consequences. The funniest thing is that China wanted to end all that.

Another problem the war on drugs and the Nanny State created when they tried to solve opioid addiction by shutting down doctors, pill mills, and pharmacies for prescribing oxycoton. Daddy Government didn't like it. So now, instead of getting your fix under the care of a doctor, they're getting their fix out of the care of a street level dealer. /smdh

I know, you know, everybody knows, and it is not even so much that the taking of drugs is the problem, greed, money, corruption at the highest levels is behind this. It is in effect biological warfare. And it is run by private mercenaries the world over...retired generals, and corporate interests working together against democracy, and heaven forfend, Peace. That is why they won't legalise it.

It’s like prohibition in the 20s and 30s. Yeah it reduced alcohol consumption but alcohol related crimes (Drink driving, public intoxication etc) went up. Drug addiction should be treated as a health issue, not a criminal offence. That way people who are addicted can receive it in safe controlled conditions
