People who do hoax calls to emergency services should be made to do a shift with them so they can see what recourses they are taking up and also pay a fine

Just one shift? I’d suggest not only a week working with the paramedics, but also a week working in a morgue - give them a wake up call on thinking joking about death is a big game. Let them see it all up close & personal.

With shooting calls or any major incident it can come through to any emergency service but should really go through to police. If it comes through to amb we share information with police a rendezvous area is set up for amb and police check the scene is safe for the paramedics to begin assisting casualties.

@@harismohammad2005 Thats what I implied, the police are supposed to arrive to the scene to check if it's clear and safe for paramedics to come. Paramedics should be waiting nearby the scene ready to jump in after the police if it's clear to do so.

@@LordGhost. I know it’s been over a year but that’s literally what happened in this video. We respond to it a hold back until the scene is safe. In something like a shooting. There can be other things we may approach with caution whilst waiting for police though. Shootings generally not being one of them.
