@@UnitedKingdomGovernment yes and no. Just don't be so scared and never go. 30 seconds to a minute waiting for a gap is fine but after you've missed 6 perfectly suitable (for a learner) gaps you're going to get honked. The instructors job should be to help them go and determine a suitable gap and get their confidence up to go.

I'm an Aussie living now in the US, and even as a pedestrian crossing the road when I first got here was difficult because of that. It took time for my head to get used to being on the right side of the road as a passenger in a car, and I'd say it took a few months to somewhat adjust. When I eventually started driving I was used to it and it feels normal now. I guess it would take me a little time to re-adjust to driving on the left again, but it feels interesting now to know it feels natural for me to drive on both sides.

It’s been like 4 yrs since I learned to drive so like that’s amazing. On my driving lessons we almost got into accidents just due to other drives just turning without lookin and I didn’t get into an accident and my main issue was stopping too far from a car more so than stopping too hard or too close

been watching some of these videos lately, idk about it, but in my home country, Hungary, no one is taken straight into traffic without learning the basics, and its for the best. by learning the basics I mean not stalling every single time, not looking at the stick while shifting. it just makes it so much easier for the others in traffic and the learner too.

All the instructors shown in the vidz are good. Just dont get carried away with the conversation cos we need to focus and be aware of the road ahead and the surrounding during the driving test. Whatever the instructors relay any safety tips, take note of it and acknowledged it without even looking at them. They will understand cos a mere seconds by not looking infront anything might happen! 😘😘😘😘😘

3 point turns on a road don’t even exist anymore in a PDA as the entire point is to avoid causing a road block that annoys other drivers. . I live in Perth, WA and they now make you drive into a drive way and reverse X2. They call it the ‘I forgot something’ activity. 🤷‍♀️

Glad I finished my Practical Driving Course before I start watching these vids... I totally would have been discouraged if I found out this is how I'd be assessed... good thing my Instructor ended up being really friendly... Scary at times (he needs to be when I really need to keep my head into the game and make really quick and important decisions in the middle of a busy road) but he's a great and reliable instructor.

Stalling actually doesn't affect your points it's how you react to the stall. Like if you stall and panic and forget how to start the car, that's a problem. But if you keep your cool and continue on like normal then it's fine. But yeah head checks.

My instructor asked me for a hill start at a bridge at a major highway! The nerves plus more nerves of possibly getting hit if we roll back and a car comes in. Luckily no rollbacks and no accidents. Learning in the Philippines driving school is horrendous especially if you live in the city and it's your first time to drive and you just came home after living overseas for over a decade where roads are neatly paved, traffic lights work, and just a tenth of motorists and pedestrians.

Word of advice from an Anxious tester. Take your time on the test there is really no time limit don’t rush it take it slow and if you know what you’re doing you’ll be 100% ok and get your drivers license in no time.
