You know, it just hit me. In the previous movie, the old sailor mouse was telling his version of the Titanic story to his grandchildren. That means there's no way in hell he is living forever on an uncharted island. This is just another bullshit story Grandpa Mouse is telling his grandchildren, except this time he was high on crack while telling it. But on the other hand, it's a terrible movie so who cares.

I was born in 1996 to a mother who was a huge horror buff at the time. My first horror movie was Leprechaun when I was 2 years old, followed by IT, then Puppet Master, then we marathon'd the slasher camp legends that Halloween (Nightmare, Friday, and Halloween) We went to a child psychologist to get proper advice on the whole thing (google wasn't a thing back then). All the person said was "well if he's not having nightmares there isn't anything from stopping him from watching these movies". My mom even wanted to put that on a plaque to show the people that were shaming her for letting me watch horror movies xD Point of this: Kids these days can handle that shit. Especially super cheesy titles. We need to simplify and re-do the entire rating. Rated A for Adults(movies with explicit nudity), Rated T for Teen (movies with violence and suggestive themes), and Rated K for Kids (feel good happy movies like Frozen and Inside Out).

There's a huge plot hole you didn't mention: The 1st movie was told as a flashback by one of the mice to his grandchildren. This movie doesn't explain how he went back to land. 20:00 So it was a Big-Lipped Aligator Moment?

15:01 - 15:20 What's sad is that this is probably the best scene in the whole movie. Just two dogs falling in love and having fun. It's simple to understand compared to everything else. The movie sometimes feels like a horror movie that forgot it was supposed to be a horror movie.

Got to admit at the time despite being a Christmas special I was annoyed it ended up being a spaceship (ran by characters more clueless about the tragedy than those who made the animated movies) and it was those robot angels again (although I'd be annoyed if they came back again in general, was never a fan). Knowing of these animated movies made me change my tune on the subject but still left me disappointed. I know it's as far from being the same thing as could be possible but a Orient Express spaceship featured in a episode a few years ago did bring that all back.
