Finally some sense talking and intelligence I'm inspired by this man. He's right government wont solve SA problems there are of course better and worse administrators but if South Africa is to be saved it can only be done by the business community.

I think the solution lies in the amalgamation of white and black farming expertise where the banks play the smallest possible role.

Expropriation of land is wrong. Peaceful solutions are paramount. Tribal chiefs are an integral part of S.A. society and should be held accountable for their people. The solution is simple. Each chief needs a fully self sustainable community farm (Kibbutz style) for especially women children and widows. A cultural community / education centre open to tourism over weekends will generate a regular income. S.A. has many unique beautiful cultures that the world's people would love to experience e.g. Khoi San Swazi Venda Zulu Xhosa and even Voortrekkers. Too many cultures to mention and all with their own unique traits .

The Government currently has land if they "hold it" as if it were in currency would accrue interest since it isn't in currency it's not even working as an investment. My goodness this is why even holding onto money 3 days extra can cost/accrue interest and if it matters to the rich it matters to the poor. That is economics and the truth is currently the people denied opportunity are being denied it every single day so "like a credit card" not only must the disadvantaged see reimbursement and reparation payment but also lost interest because of the delay. To say forgive and forget leaves one in a catch up position (which cannot be achieved without more cost) This man speaks with insight and detailed understanding of the real problem. I would trust him in deciding on a plausible solution any day!

Pieter Torlage That’s an awesome story and that was very generous of you. I was referring to the banks and surety. Even other organizations like IDC are very skeptical about lending money these days. It’s a sad situation but if property rights become threatened , it’s going to get worse.

I have always said that. Kibbutz style farm would work for all. It would bring in tourism as well as give people a place to live, food in their stomachs, and dignity, and build the economy, together with growing food for the country. It is not that we are surprised that they are going to take the land, but it is the violence and torture perpetrated upon the white farmers. I am so sorry to hear your story, and it is all wrong. You should get your land back. So the government has stolen your land. Total injustice. Shocking to hear about the small businesses that could not succeed, as they brought pick n pay and checkers etc. I agree that you cannot put your livelihood in the hands of politicians. I do not agree that politicians are not corrupt. They are corrupt. Look at what has happened with the corruption, and the rural people are not all poor. The original way was the right way, so why change something that is working? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. There are not people who own 65 farms, but the government owns more than 65 farms, which are lying fallow.

Unfair. If you have title deed and if your family legally got the house it is yours. Now you know how the whites feel about their property. It sucks.

Justice says if you can prove legitimately that the land belonged to you and it was taken from you illegally and you have proof then it must be given back to you. Simple.
@MyWictor5 жыл бұрын
It's not that simple. You talk about restitution. Let me ask you buy a land and then put a business on it which makes a lot of revenues. The state depend on it. You also invested so much money and time and not to be even compenstate for it like they say? What if that guy put 50 million worth of valu on that property, any form of business? Insurance and bank loans are on it. What do you think the bank would say? What would you say if it was your property now being revoked ?...The banks don't care about your heritage! Or your history. Africans don't realize that the bank system has arrived with rules and regulations and laws. It's not easy restitution cause of capital.
@nikkicruden14835 жыл бұрын
How do you give back land now developed with e.g. a coal mine or perhaps a paper factory all funded by international investors or what if it is now an urban suburb with 1000 upmarket homes mostly funded by banks through bonds and home loans? How do you give back the land? By steeling from those who have contributed to development and life style improvements; S.A. will plunder back in to the dark ages again as it was before 1655 A.D.
@MyWictor5 жыл бұрын
@@nikkicruden1483 exactly. Well said. Trouble is the blacks majority have no rational understanding of what is economy standard. Bank ministry has said - you must be credit worthy to apply any loan even if you have gotten land. And just look escom became a major issue there. No power . No business transaction. The government don't even like the poor people to give them house and build infrastructure. They can't even pay the electric bills. It is a big mistake to take somebody land and they dare to say without paying for it.
