It's totally not cool to blink, come from boxing family myself, didn't go to boxing myself but got thought by my father, who is an ex boxer, apart from him, my brother, my uncle and my great grandfather were all boxers. And I definitely know if you really want to do this sport you have to never blink. If you blink you might miss something in just seconds. Sports are not counted on minutes it's the second that matter.

@@imm6795 thats what actual gyms teach their students. They dont try to make their athletes, "not blink", rather, they teach them not to keep their eyes closed. Blinking is natural, and if have to train to "not blink" then you have a different issue. Its like training a baseball player to always keep their eye on the ball. Yeah its important, but not as important as the guy above makes it seem.

This is not a usual assignment and I wouldn't be surprised if he got a small bit of preferential treatment due to being a popular UFC fighter. He fulfilled his mandatory military enlistment, but maintained a training schedule at the same time.

I've watched a lot of videos and looked at pictures of boxers to see what the secret is to not blinking when a punch approaches, I use it and it works.....you narrow your eyes as the punch closes in without closing your eyes. You can narrow your eyes pretty thin and still see the punch coming.
