You are amazing, brother! I wish that I had been blessed with your ability and years (I'm sure) of training on the organ. We have an organ at my parish that sits empty every Sunday and our tiny schola tries our best to chant the ordinaries and propers, but there is nothing quite as beautiful as organ accompaniment. May God bless you!!!

Having devoted most of my life to jazz piano, having discovered the precious classical composers later on( British music having a special place in my heart), I must say that nothing had such profound impact in my soul as when I first listened to a Santo Domingo de Silos recording where they are accompanied by organ. Since then I've been trying to find more recordings of this beautiful combination. If you're reading my message and know of a few available recordings, please let me know!!! God bless you all.

Great talk! I like both arrangements and find myself playing some sort of similar variation each season. Do you find that over time your tastes change in terms of the chords you play?

Thanks! I'd say at this point that my tastes for chords and harmonizations have more or less "stabilized." I do occasionally alter them, but much less now than when I first started accompanying from square notes.
