Would be nice to have the recipe either linked or in the description. A paste was added to the pork belly but not mentioned in the subtitles. Probably chili paste but not sure what kind… Going to try this recipe anyway though it looks delicious!

Oh yeah, btw the chili paste he adds to the pork belly, garlic and birds eye chilis is called Gochujang - I used MOTHERINLAWS Fomented Chili Paste Concentrate - garlic flavor. It was delicious 😋

I made this few times already and it is a delicious dish ever I had, a touch of vinegar and soaking salt into the core made huge different, it is my way to eat cabbage now. thank you very much for the recipe.

The cabbage glistened in the serving dish with gravy because of the way it was torn up. The method you used of separating the core stems from the leafy green parts makes a difference. Also, the use of salt with core stems helped a lot to soften and release the excess water. The core pieces were chewable and tasty after cooking. The leafy green parts were very tender and flavorful, too. I made this again and again, and I love it!

The added "Paste” is doubanjian. This is a fermented chili and broad bean sauce. It’s used widely in various Szechuan dishes.

Спасибо за рецепт! Сегодня попробовал, только без грибов, очень вкусно получилось. Единственное, для тех кто не знает о перце, который кладут, он очень острый, я положил только один, а не три, тем более, ч о там ещё добавляли перцовую пасту, я тоже немного добавил для вкуса.

You need to post the recipe since it's hard to follow the video in Chinese, even with English translation. Why? I noticed that a "red paste" was added but did not say what it was. Most Asian cooks posts the complete recipe along with the video. Can you do the same? Thank you!

Red paste "Doubanjiang" is a main ingredient for Chinese dish. It can easily be found in most Chinese grocery stores.

It's called Doubanjiang (豆瓣醬), a fermented spicy savoury bean sauce made from broad beans, chili peppers, soybeans, salt and flour. You can find it in Asian/Chinese stores.

He is using Toban Djan (chili bean sauce). FYI, there's 2 types of the sauce with n without chili n for this dish goto use the one with chili .

I tried this and used gochujang per below, mushroom flavoring in place of chicken flavoring and it was the best cabbage dish I've ever had. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Apparently the mystery paste is dobanjiang(Chinese style) not gochujang(Korean style). I've been corrected by a few on my comment where I called the mystery paste out. Anyway, I tried the recipe both ways and got a similar result! 😋

Gochujang is a completely different flavor from dobanjiang. Not a suitable replacement.
