@@Riot205X the main reason I like her is becuase she has the second highest damage output in the game (rivaled by knuckles and outdone by Omega) and the ability to give a damage buff. She can only apply the buff to one person at a time, but along with Tails' ability to give extra turns, it is really broken

My personal headcanon about Amy not seen using her tarot cards in a lot of Sonic media until recently is she may have been insecure about openly being into occult stuff since she thought it wasn’t a cute girly thing to be into. And that other people, like her crush sonic, would find her weird for it. But after years of hanging out and becoming friends with sonic and crew, she began to get more comfortable being herself and showing off the weirder sides of herself, and thus started to be more open about her tarot hobby.

i agree, the sonic 06 invisibility could be her using a tarot card just hiding it from view. if they remade the game they could have her actually use one, and hide it somewhat but towards the end of the level she doesnt do it as much to show she will grow out of it eventually and have the confidence regardless of how sonic 06 ends. Tarot cards could give her more magic abilities the more she uses it. i think they could be onto something. and to make things fit, she could be harnessing chaos energy without even realizing it via tarot cards. Shadow in a future game could refrence "is that chaos energy?" when she uses it in front of him.

Indeed, both of these were mentioned in her Sonic Battle profile. - Sonic Chronicles actually had her use her tarot cards for certain moves. - She also displays the ability to summon countless amounts of hammers out of thin air. In Sonic the Fighters, Sonic X and Superstars (with the White Emerald), she can only throw one at a time. But when Super Amy (Origins) or in Hyper Mode (Sonic the Fighters), she can rapidly toss them to devastating effect. - SA2's multiplayer mode has Amy Flash and Storming Heart. While not a time stop move, it locks up the opponent's controls, which is worse. - Amy's bangles were never directly stated to be her training weights. - In addition, in Sonic the Fighters, Amy can summon random objects from the sky, and her hyper mode turns this to consistently drop a 16-ton weight.

In Sonic Advance 3. When paired up with Knuckles, She can bring out the Heavy Power Hammer. In Sonic Adventure 1, She can upgrade her hammer to the Lightning Hammer. When she whacks the ground it sends out a corcular shockwave. I love when characters are treated as a joke for 95% of the story and then get replaced by Chris Thorndike for their "big moment" in the anime adaptation. 06 did a weaker Amy so much better if I'm being honest, and she had way more of a role in Blaze and Silver's redemptions than Shadow's, but people still try to gas up her in SA2 as if it's a masterclass in character writing.

I really liked Amy's steady progression in the series. In CD she was pretty much just a regular girl. Then in Adventure she mostly ran away from Zero until he really pushed her to show what she can do. Adventure 2 was really important for her in my opinion because while she was better, she still wasn't on the others level and still found a way to help in reminding Shadow of his promise. I think this all culminates in Heroes where's she's actively leading a team and doing as well as everyone else. Heroes is peak Amy to me personally.

Yes there is the "there's no way out of marrying me" scene but most of the reason they fight Sonic immediately after that is because they think he is in possession of Chocola and Froggy. She was pretty dead set on finding them, even encouraging Big and Cream to go out with her and find them with her at the beginning of the game. She only chased Sonic at Final Fortress after they were saved.

Apart of that infamous scene of Sonic Team, the cutscenes clearly showed us that Amy seems more interested in Sonic than in finding Chocola and Froggy. In every single scene she always mentioned that she was in love with Sonic, almost no scene showed any concern in rescuing the other characters apart from the scene where Amy encourage Cream and Big when they were in the haunted castle level. If scenes like that had appeared more often in the game, I would have shut my mouth, but no. For example, in the final scene of the Team Rose story, when facing Eggman, Amy says "It's your fault that Sonic and I aren't together." Could you mention something about Chocola and Froggy for once in this game? It was clear what the writers' intentions were with Amy. I mean, it didn't cost anything to put a sentence like "It's your fault that Chocola and Froggy are missing, Cream and Big are very worried. And on top of that, Sonic isn't with us, nor with me.". There's always "Sonic Sonic Sonic!!". Also, there's that scene of Amy saying "Really, what?" to Cream after she said something negative about Sonic, do I really have to explain how horrible that scene was? Poor Cream, I didn't find that moment funny, it could have been done much better. But well, everyone has their own opinions, no matter how wrong they are...

@criticalbuddy524 That's...not true. In Grand Metropolis she does talk about Sonic when specifically asked by Cream if she's sure Sonic's there. The way she says the "Really what?" sounds like genuine curiosity on what her friend thinks of her crush. Sonic doesn't come up in the initial cutscene of Rail Canyon, and while I will admit that the cutscene after at the Egg Albatross is very Sonic centric, she's right back to being on Eggman's back after they find his decoy and now think he's most likely to be holding Chocola and Froggy. Hang Castle and Frog Forest have zero mention of Sonic. Hell, during Eggman's robot hoard section in Hang Castle, Amy actively questions if Eggman is the culprit behind their disappearance. Then we have the Egg Emperor cutscene but I think Amy's already done a good enough job of displaying she does care about finding her friends' friends. Just cause she doesn't have Chocola and Froggy's name in her mouth 24/7 doesn't mean she doesn't care. It's very clear that she does, especially since that's the reason she went out with Cream and Big in the first place. Finding Sonic is just a big bonus.

I’m not sure if you’ve been reading the IDW comics but unlike other Sonic comics these ones are actually cannon to the games. A moment that I think is worth mentioning is during the Urban Warfare arc as they’re fighting a massive badnik hoard, the gang encounters a super badnik (those big bulky ones with the massive hammers). Anyway, in the scuffle the super badnik drops its GIANT hammer and the end of the handle conveniently lands next to Amy. Amy pauses before a smiling grin shows up on her face. She asks Silver to give her a boost with his telekinesis and SHE PICKS UP THE MASSIVE HAMMER THAT IS SEVERAL TIMES HER SIZE AND SMASHES THE SUPER BADNIK WITH ITS OWN WEAPON! Afterwards Silver is shaken up as he says that although he gave her a boost, Amy did most of the heavy lifting. I just felt I should mention this.

Amy is a very powerful character on her own (of course, if we compare her to Sonic and Shadow's entire arsenal, for example, the competition becomes unfair because those guys are very broken, lol) and I see a lot of potential in her that can be further explored in future stories and even in a solo game. I know that the Sonic franchise has a very broad power system and that it is generally not structured in several rules like in Hunter X Hunter, for example, but the possibility of her having powers coming from magic is something that catches my attention mainly because this can give her good versatility and, as a contrast, she still trains her body to have better physical capabilities because, in addition to being quite athletic like a gymnast, Amy also knows martial arts because in Sonic Battle she says that she practices Boxing and even if it is just to "keep in shape", she still does it with the rings that are super heavy, which makes her training similar to the extreme exercises in the routine of some characters like Chun-Li herself, for example, she has a great potential!

Just a reminder: A Piko Piko Hammer is a toy hammer. The kind that squeaks when you whack it. Amy can hurt you with a TOY hammer! But in all seriousness it is so hard to measure Amy. She is often coded as a comedic character, so many of her amazing abilities could only exist as a joke. But since the Sonic narrative always tows the line between comedy and serious story, and because Amy has been getting more character development lately, it really calls into question how strong and how capable she really is.

i can't help but think of a comic book scene: Sonic and a bunch of his friends are fighting a bunch of robots. a giant robot swings at Sonic with a giant hammer. Silver stops it in mid-swing, then Blaze hits it's hand with a fireball, making it drop the hammer. the hammer lands right next to Amy. she makes a silly face, (her eyes get really big), she looks at her normal hammer, then she puts it away and yells, "Silver! give me a boost!" then the two of them, working together, smash the robot's head in with it's own hammer. *PICO* then Silver looks shocked and says, "You did most of that! how..." and Sonic says, "' 'Cuz she's awesome!" and gives Amy a high-five!

You know, I like to believe that Amy has the Power of Slapstic, as long as she doesn't have a comical reason to act, she can't use her power. At least in SA he could only push Zero, this robot could be easily defeated by anyone on Team Sonic. So by pushing Zero with her comedic strength into the electric cage, she could expose a vulnerable point. In Sonic Battle her love for Sonic took her to a point of absurd training where she not only trains physically every day to be on par with the rest in combat, but channels her love and transforms it into power, her slapstic is almost the philosophy of the power of an emerald. (I have no doubt that the current Amy is just strong and that's it)

In fact, the fact she's into tarot cards can explain some of the more mystical abilities: prior to meeting the blue blur for the first time, Amy has been actively studying the magic arts. Why she has the stats of a mage build in most spinoff games when she's playable. What if I told you that Sonic the Hedgehog has a sister series, called Puyo Puyo? Hear me out, what if Amy's holding back the same destructive magic Arle has this whole time with limiter rings of her own (her weights. if you think about it Amy is now strong enough to cast Dark Prince's ASCENSION spell)? Arle's strongest magic is Ice Storm. When Amy gets mad, she can be seen channeling a powerful spell to unleash a burst of fire, similar to Draco's fire. At one point, Popful Mail WAS going to be retooled into a Sonic game, a title HEAVILY involved in magic! So in reality, a lot of traits about Amy could very well be from that scrapped game resurfacing if you think about how similar Mail and Amy are.

I know it doesn't really count as a "power" per se but I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that she's the heart of the team. While the boys are off doing the actiony stuff, often times she is handling the more sensitive matters relating to compassion, communication, and such. We see it for the first time in Adventure with Gamma, again in Adv2 with Shadow in the last story, we see it a ton in Sonic X (i know its not canon, but its a good example), Unleashed where she becomes Pickle's assistant, Lost World to a much lesser extent (she seems to be in charge of the small animals' wellbeing after Sonic saves them), Forces where... uh.... (idk, I hate Forces but I know its there) and in the IDW comics with the resistance stuff, and in Frontiers with the Koco. Recap: Sonic = Speed, Tails = Brain, Knuckles = Strength, Amy = Heart. Every Team needs a heart, I think that's pretty important.

Now, I haven't played many modern sonic games, but from the one's I've played, my favorite Amy is SA1. She still likes Sonic, but she isn't exactly hyper-obsessive, (Like in heroes) and she doesn't let Sonic get in the way of her primary goal, which is protecting the bird. And she's able to do other stuff in that game too, like reunite the bird with their family, defeating one of Eggman's robots, (and a pretty powerful one at that) and saving Gamma from getting destroyed by Sonic. Now before any of you people say anything about SA2, I haven't played that game yet, I'm still on SADX. Also this isn't a modern game, but an honorable mention is Amy in CD, simply just because she's really cute in that game.

Alright, I'm gonna say something controversial: Amy knocking Knuckles into that tree isn't an impressive feat. These characters are lightweights (minus Big, Vector, & Omega;) they throw eachother around all the time in Sonic Heroes and Andvance 3. What's REALLY impressive is that Amy can create a tornado with a single swing of her hammer. She can effortlessly do something that even Sonic & Shadow have to run in a circle for a bit to do. As far as physical strength goes, she has to be on par with Shadow & Rouge. (Shadow can flip a bus with one hand and Rouge can carry & launch Omega, who is ridiculously heavy.)

Amy Rose one of the most underrated Sonic characters,she's one of my favorite,this was a great video,you're a little off with Amy's bracelets being weights. Amy does wear weights in Sonic Battle but when you read the rest of the text the weights aren't just on her arms they're on her arms and legs. Amy is Goku/Rock Lee for real 😂 that's awesome 😎
