Chaos driving the Ford GT in NYC

The other day I headed over to a private car collection with Tim in his Ford GT. I decided to film our drive through Manhattan as it would be an interesting perspective to see what it's actually like driving a car through the city. No cab drivers, truck drivers, ubers, etc care about what the other person is driving and it is pretty much a free for all. We chat about the difficulty of trying to navigate with the chaos of everything going on around you. This is a completely raw and uncut video which I hope you enjoy!

the only place that i think is worse than driving in NYC is driving in india, that's a nightmare. i live 15 mins from where shmee is driving and once you figure out one simple thing, streets run north and south avenues runs east and west and manhattan is grid system it's easy to navigate around and drive.. also just take the subway you get around alot faster..

Dunno guys. I've driven many times in NYC, and it's really not all thaaat bad. You couldn't pay me money to drive in London, though...traffic moving on the "other" side, steering wheel on the "wrong" side, streets going in every direction...no thanks. I would take NYC any day.

I have to admit you guys have more guts then me. I have lived in NY most of my life and I would NEVER EVER drive over the Queen's Borough Bridge it will destroy your car. At least you didn't go on the Major Degan Expressway or the Cross Bronx, the Ford GT would never have survived.

I know this might sound silly but everyone always refers to Manhattan as NYC and it is not ....it is one of the boroughs of NYC. The other boroughs are Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and sadly Staten Island..

Please... I never get stuck in traffic in NYC. I have usually driven a Lexus gx470, sometimes an infinity qx60 and q50. The trick is you have to drive like a snake, and piss off the people driving next to you because they were/are texting on the phone and you "skipped the line". I would love to see you guys take her on the FDR drive with some drone/chase and follow car footage driving in excess of 70mph (probably the closest thing to the Grand Prix in Monaco.) or the Jackie Robinson they sort of have an exotic race track feel to them with the narrow twists and turns.

If we're being honest about it, car ownership in major cities *needs* to go down. At that scale they take up too much space, they're not the most effective way to get people around, and the pollution doesn't help anyone. We need better mass transit solutions for areas with millions of people jammed into a relatively small space.
