Pulled over in the Ford GT!

Well it was only a matter of time. I was riding with Shmee in his Ford GT through NYC and we were pulled over because of his UK license plates. Thankfully Shmee did a lot of research prior to bringing his Ford GT to the US from the UK and had all the correct documents in order and ready to show to the police. This was the first time he was pulled over since arriving in the US and probably won't be the last. Like Tim says in the video it is a very unique situation to see a car driving around on foreign plates and cops might only experience it once in their entire career.
Thank you so much to this officer from the NYPD for his kindness and understanding after looking over the documents.

@@Therealblubblego I think it happens a lot in the US because of like what happened with Shmee, cops in the US rarely see a car on foreign plates, and since the US uses plates that have states on them and are a different shape, when they see a foreign license plate they might assume its a fake license plate which is a common thing in the US and normally means the car is stolen or not registered

Distance Shooter diplomatic tags in the US are cut like US tags. They have diplomatic or consular printed on them with proper US numbers. You don’t typically see UK tags on the back of a car here. Some wannabes in BMWs and Porsche’s put them on the fronts of their cars though.

When I have shipped a UK registered Harley-Davidson over to Daytona Bike Week, Florida, for each of 4 years, I found the local Police were completely bemused that anyone would be riding on UK plates! I avoided being ticketed for filtering through traffic which is illegal in Florida because the Police had never seen UK plates before. The strangest comments I got was being asked if I’d ridden my bike from England to the USA?!! That was asked quite often! It’s good to see your UK registered car on roads I know from my annual visits to Florida! Some Police in less touristy areas will not be so easy to deal with.

It's not mandatory in the UK for plates to display the EU flag with country code on the left side so plenty of people and dealerships don't bother with them unless they drive to mainland Europe frequently.
