if the refs were less concerned about a goalie fight they could have avoided the wings player getting his head split open. 3/4 of them are stopping a goalie fight?
@mitsanut58692 жыл бұрын
You've got 4 refs trying to break up 12 players who are going at it. Do you guys possess any brain power to at least realize this one point? Besides that, you have a bunch of guys together swinging at anything that moves and it's not the refs who are armored up the ass. You are all experts and generals as you watch the video but have you EVER tried to break a fight as a ref? I'd bet that the answer is big fat "NO"
@miguelmouzourakis64832 жыл бұрын
@@mitsanut5869 if you go to 0:32 you can see 2 refs are holding back Ned (wings goalie) one is holding back the Wilds goalie, then you have another actually breaking up a different fight. You need one, and at most two to break up the goalies, one could’ve skated around to find any other fights. No reason Raymond should’ve gotten his head slammed on the ice, then fully beaten down for more than 5 seconds with no refs noticing.
@mitsanut58692 жыл бұрын
@@miguelmouzourakis6483 like I said, it's very easy to sit at the screen, slow the clip down, watch it 10 times over and then be an expert. From my own experience, refs are actually trained to break up fights and pacify hot heads, besides calling the game. I was never good at it - I just let them sort it out when they decided to drop gloves and went in only after they were out of juice or completely bloodied and beat up. But one thing I know is that in order to become NHL ref, you must be very, very good in all departments of the game, and that includes these situations. So they did what they are trained for. Now, again - there are four refs - usually one of the main refs is watching to see how and to whom to give out the penalties, other three are pacifying the situation. When 12 players decide to have fun with each other, then it becomes total chaos. Good luck with trying to figure out which situation is less or more dangerous when you're right there at ice level. Last time I checked, refs were still humans and they still have one pair of eyes. Now, if you're such an expert, why don't you call NHL and tell them how smart you are and maybe they will give you a job. Just prepare yourself to be hated by at least 50% of people at the joint you're gonna be working. Something tells me that in your case it would reach 100% fast. Very fast.

I think Dumba knew he did or was going to knock his head because you can see him reach behind it like a delayed trying to catch his head before it hit type of think. And then throw the cheap ones (something could have been said, but we don't See Raymond throwing fists until after Dumba has fired off 2 or 3, so can't really attempt to use that excuse) This rivalry always lives up to the hype, especially when both teams are fairly scrappy as of late and we are in the later half of the season.
