Today we are looking at a custom map called Chaos Fortress. It looks all evil and has floating stuff! COOL. The Empire has rallied a great army to bring the war to the warriors of Chaos. This battle seems to be one sided, but the ending is unbelievable. Enjoy the battle :D

Fantasy games should really start embracing one of Europe's most inventive monsters the Cockatrice. Basically imagine a dragon crossed with a chicken. I had an idea for a Med 2 mod that basically put tonnes of cultures from all over the place in one map, and had not only their standard troops (or stuff inspired from them) but their mythological creatures. Taralion, the Western European Medieval one, was going to have Cockatrice Knights (essentially heavy cavalry but with fire breathing dragon-chicken mounts). But then I discovered something that made it even better: In Japan their is a legendary beast called the Basan, which is also a giant fire breathing chicken monster. So, Cockatrice Knights vs Basan Samurai (not actually called Samurai, but basically Samurai).

That battle was awesome & I love what the Chaos guys did! They must've known from the start that your artillery would've turned them into mince meat if they'd charged out or held the perimeter, so, instead, they hide all of their heavy-hitters in one place, let you blow some randoms up, infer that you're winning after 5 minutes, lure you up the narrow ramp to their hiding place, hold you there with elite infantry &, finally, bulldoze the lot!

Honestly, I felt Chaos played fairly well. The only better option I could see would be letting the forces soaking the skirmishing fire face the Empire soldiers and use their shields to eat more of their ammo up. Letting their forces charge down was very smart of them.

It was unfortunate that your teammate threw all his infantry into a chaos blender but it was really fun watching you use pike and shot to shoot and advance on the more elite chaos infantry. Something to think of for possible future sieges, consider using anti-large cav such as those Ddemigryph knights with halberds to support your infantry in choke points when monsters try to break through your lines. They have much higher mass than halberd infantry and can help keep large monsters like giants or trolls from just charging right through your lines to your squishy skirmishers.

Yo Apollo, another great battle. There is one thing Id like to tell you about Warhammer mechanics though. The Imperial Greatswords are not good against monsters and or Cav. Actually they have a perk that tells you they are especially good at fighting infantry. I mean, they will do against cav and monsters to, but they are not specially meant to fight them. The imperial answer on monsters are your Halberdiers. Halberdiers+Handgunners kill all giants Chaos could throw at you, while they will mostlikely fail against Chaos infantry, especially when they are not in formation doe to charges through Handgunner lines. Use the Greatswords to fight Infantry, they also do not care much about formation they just slaughter you know? I hope this helps a little bit. Keep up the good work.
