Just to get this corrected. The original deal in 1878 - The Sulu sultan leases Sabah to the British North Borneo Co., represented by Englishman Alfred Dent and German Gustavus Baron de Overbeck in a deed of pajak (“lease”) in which the company would pay 5,300 Mexican gold pieces a year to the Kingdom of Sulu. Instead it was converted to ringgit. This is one of the reasons why the rent ballooned to 14.9 billion dollars in todays money. I hope this helps you all see the truth.

The biggest mistake was, discontinuing the rental payment which resulted to a breach of contract. It which case, the heirs of Sulu came into default. As a Sabahan, if Sabah's sovereignty is transferred to the Philippines, our economy will not improve. Our oil money will just transfer to Manila rather than KL. The sultanate of sulu is not a self proclaimed heir. The Royal Sultanate of Sulu has legal and historic rights over north borneo. A foreign company in itself has no rights to handover a sovereign land to another soveriegn power with the fact that it is only given the privilegde to least the land. In any legal matter if there is mistranslation or misinterpretation to a contract then the original intended meaning of a word should be followed in this case it meant "lease" not surrender. The creation of the Philippine Constitution recognizes all current territorial and historic soveriegn claims of its subjects which includes the ownership of the Royal Sultanate of Sulu of North Borneo. The Government of the Philippines acknowledges the claims of the sultanate and that is clear. Sabah is ours. For all the Filipinos that was displaced due to Malaysia's annexation of Sabah is illegal though it was made through a referendum they have failed to engage and involve the Filipino public to cast their votes on that very day.

Sabah is privately owned by the heirs of sultan of sulu. So, no, the heirs cannot just leave it to malaysian govt. Malaysia is renting the land from sultan of sulu. Malaysia stopped the payments of rent in 2013. As Asean member, it has nothing to do with this claim. By law, the heirs still have the ownership of Sulu. Malaysia has to pay the monthly arrears of rent.

You dont have to go faraway, just check Brunei. The only difference is they leased the land to a british company when the time malaysia was still under their rule. For some reason the land continued under Malyasia after their independence, but you can’t deny the fact they had a transaction regarding Sabah. Just the payments they give to Sultanate is evidence.

A Crystal clear Malaysia knows that Sabah is Philippines autonomous region, cos when I was roaming around Sabah up to Brunei I have met a lot native Filipino living on the islands, meaning they are the trails of native tribes of the place. If Sabahan realigned with Philippines federal republic of the Philippines Sabah may have a chance to change Thier lives because of new federal laws of the Philippines that all resources of the autonomous will be granted to government of sulu for developments. In Legal ways Malaysia don't have any documents to prove they own the Sabah. Sabah is own by sultunate of Sulu. Malaysia can't fake the Historical legal documents. You need to Respects the history and your own ancestors.

This so called Sultan Sulu leased almost half portion of Sabah to British before independence, that's the claim that the British been paying him, then after independence the same Sultan Sulu claimed that he needs to be paid. After independence the Malaysian government back then been paying him. Till around 1970s, the Philippines Government and the so called Sultan started claiming Sabah belongs to them but it's been ignored but the Malaysian government still were paying them. In 2013, from nowhere this Sultan send his troops for terrorist attack in Lahad Datu, Sabah to seize Sabah. They were destroyed and defeated by the Malaysian defence/armed groups but many Malaysian civilians were killed. After this terrorist attack, Malaysian government said fukoff to Sultan Sulu's claims and demands and stopped paying any money to him. When Pakatan Harapan government take over Putrajaya back in 2018, the Sultan Sulu came back and claim for the Sabah land and were blaming Malaysian government not paying them lease since 2013, and were demanding the PH government to pay him remaining leased money and also to continue paying him. Our stupid Attorney General of Malaysia under PH government agreed to this condition, and send an official letter and paid them back whatever they want. It was totally opposed by the previous BN government who handled this matter differently but still the PH government continued paying them despite the terrorist attacks and murdering of Malaysian civilians happened. This is where the Malaysian sovereignty became a big question mark. Right after PH government agreed to do whatever they want, this so called Sultan Sulu started demanding USD 14 billion from Malaysia as compensation. Malaysian government totally ignored that. And then BN government came into power but the Sultan Sulu keep whining and were demanding for the compensation. Since ignored many times, the Sultan Sulu brought the case to UK court using some Spanish Lawyers. And they won few months back, eventhough Malaysian government never called for hearing. Now this Sultan Sulu using the same Spanish Lawyers, he seized Petronas's assets in Luxembourg and Azerbaijan. Did you see what happened here? The PH government allowed the so called Sultan Sulu to demand whatever he wants, which made him he's right and Malaysian government were wrong at the international court for not paying him whatever he were asking for eventhough he made terrorist attacks and killed civilians back in 2013 at Lahad Datu. This has gave the so called Sultan Sulu to have his advantage to go even further. And yeah here we are right now, watching our national assets being seized just like that. Now at the parliament, the one shouting and trying to be hero is the same PH government who governed Malaysian back in 2018/2019 who caused all these problems. The same Sabah MPs from PH were quite when PH government and the Attorney General made the decision to give whatever the Sultan asked for but they're the one shouting and screaming and trying to be heroes. This is what we call Malaysian opposition leaders' dirty and shameful politics in a nutshell.

Because Sabah is one of the four founder of Malaysia (including Sarawak, Singapore and Malaya) under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 signed at Malborough house at UK. Back at 1878 the British North Borneo Chartered Company led by Gustav Von Overbeck created an informal agreement to pajak (to pawn) whole aforementioned territory of Sandakan to Sibuku of Sabah to the British North Borneo Chartered Company forever under protectorate of Britain. For no good reason even after Malaysia formation where Sabah was now fully sovereign and independent from any foreign claums, Tunku Abdul Rahman still want this obligation to continue considering of his meeting on creation of Maphilindo (the new Malaysia that extending the Philippine and Indonesia into another one new nation ) and now the Malaysian Consulate until 2013 when the ex PM of Malaysia Najib Razak for no good reason stopping the payment of annual RM5300 considering the Sulu Invasion in 2013. We the Sabahan was entrapped in the Kuala Lumpur UMNO political games . for whatever reason this kleptocratic Malaysian government of these days dont want this problem to be settled once and for all
