I feel like chaos magic is knowing the rules and understanding they don't apply to all situations and knowing when to not follow. Not following rules because you "have to" but because you find you want to

I love how you're connecting with the community of witches and letting us watch these connections. Just found Ivy myself and there's just something so magnetizing about chaos magick for me. Maybe it's also the low spoon ability of the magic too. I love how you get your guests' excitement out. It's so clear they love their subject and love someone one on one listening so carefully.

I have been a practitioner for 28 years and before that very eclectic in practice. Chaos Magick, originally, was based in Peter Carroll's model of Chaos Theory. It is a meta paradigm, not a specific paradigm necessarily. You can practice whatever paradigms you wish specifically for a period of time or you can blend of elements of paradigms magical and otherwise and make your own paradigms. It is not necessarily disordered or "chaotic". When Chaos magicians refer to chaos many mean the primordial and not disorder. There is an excellent workbook written by a friend of mine called "The Paradigmal Pirate" by Joshua Wetzel. Dave Lee has also written some good books.

The ultimate goal for me as a "chaos magician" Ive been working towards the goal of completely eliminating the ritual altogether. The ritual is just the activating mechanism that allows us to manipulate the metaphysical ether connecting everything including our actions and events. The real power occurs in our mind through gnosis. I know I can get to a point where I dont need the ritual. Ive been practicing the "occult" for a long time and understand what is possible. I actually believe that being able to manipulate the metaphysical ether is the next stage for our species. Also contained in the metaphysical ether is our collective unconsciousness.

In my opinion? Chao's magic, is real magic. But for it to work? You have to (really) be in touch with your intuition. If you create a ceremony? Or methods? Your intuition will, let you know what will and won't work. You'll already know what to use.

So would you say that chaos magic is the act of learning, and being in a beginner state? Kind of formless in what you know as you’re questioning everything? (Which is definitely a chaotic state to be in)
@IvyTheOccultist Жыл бұрын
I would say yes and no. (How confusing! 😂) There is definitely a difference between a beginner who is questioning everything simply because they don't know what's going on or what path to take... versus an occult practicioner that is actively choosing to paradigm jump to broaden their perspective and find the most efficient way of practicing. To add: chaos magick is primarily about how you perceive magick and how magick works. If you believe that it's your "belief" that drives the spell, then you might be a chaos magick practicioner. I have a video pinned on the top of my channel titled "Chaos Magick & The Avoidance of Dogmatism" that will explain the complexities in much greater detail. ❤️

Everything is subject to the mind/Mind and the order that that automatically and naturally imposes on everything. To me - there is nothing “chaotic” about this practice. Everything that comes from Source is already subject to the order of our mind, will, perception and intuition. This is the Aquarian Age🤘We ARE the Order. There is no chaos - only the perception of chaos due to lack of consciousness.

In my personal chaos magick practice I completely disagree with the idea of open vs closed practices. For me, anything is permitted no matter what. If something is considered a "closed practice" but also works for me then I will not avoid my intuition and I will utilise whatever I need to. I've never understood this new age idea anyway. I say let people practice what they want with no barriers or limitations. It's just a magick system at the end of the day. What you choose to do with it is your choice and your choice alone.

A closed practice is closed because they require someone teaching you or its not possible to enter the paradigm. They’re closed because its not physically possible to practice it. Its not a matter of thinking in a certain way.

"nothing is true, everything is permited" isn't that from assassins creed?
@IvyTheOccultist Жыл бұрын
In 1859, Nietzsche wrote that “nothing is true, everything is permitted” was actually the last quote of Hassan-i-Sabbah. The association was further popularized by the 1938 book of Vladimir Bartol, titled Alamut, which served as the inspiration for the original Assassin’s Creed video game.

I have been studying the history of the assassins for years and have resonated with this philosophy for years. It's really discouraging to keep listening when opportunity after opportunity to explain a single example is just brushed away. It's like on the one hand a lot of intelligence going on then all the sudden Wham psychological disorder. Almost like blaming the magic he did the night before on why you woke up the next day. It could be profound or nonsense, the difference is details. If you don't give them then it literally means nothing
@KnutFarestveit-pb4qg Жыл бұрын
In response to the satanic creed "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" I would like to answer with this. God is true, and while everything is permitted not everything is encouraged. Also every action upon the world carries with it karmic consequence, which is known as "divine judgement". The occult is hidden for a reason, it seems to me.

So I practice Chaos Magic(k) as a way to keep my mind steered in the direction I want it to travel. That is my definition. And ANYTHING goes... any and every Magickal text, from Kabbalah to Crowley to LaVey, Aquino, Ford, Lovecraft, TV, movies etc. YOU create the tree and the rules and YOU follow with the same discipline as someone who believes that a pin in a voodoo doll will actually cause a victim pain. Or a curse will kill someone. Or a blessing will save someone. Or anything in between or not defined here. You believe, you KNOW, what you are doing has power behind it. This is just a cornerstone explanation.
