I had a bilateral hip replacement and my garden has gone wild over the last few months. I am aging 67 this year (my brain isn’t that old)and have purchased a few above ground wood gardens to help change the design with a combination of raised gardens and pots - very hot right now in Canberra Australia so am waiting for the heat to lessen and the plants to go dormant then start the design. Slow and steady is the plan.

not sure if anyone mentioned (and I've paused the video to comment) but there's a naming convention for storms. the first one of a season starts with "A", and the move alphabetically down for each following storm. that's why sometimes the names become contrived, because they can't re-use names

6:01 Catherine, I saw someone use a wire dress form, like the white one you have, as a support for cascading flowers like alyssum or nasturtium. They planted inside the lower part of the skirt and allowed the blooms and leaves to fall naturally like a skirt. I’ve also seen a wild rose bush fill in the space below the skirt part of the frame, making another type of skirt that covers the stand/base. It is on my garden plan to get one this year!

We’ve had undulating heatwaves here in East Coast of Australia and where I live there are days you wouldn’t dare go outside! Whilst the warmer weather is great for the plants and certainly it’s our garden’s time of seasonal glory, for some people like me, we too in the southern Hemisphere have moments we cannot garden at this time of the year, but more or less for health and safety reasons. 🤦🏻♀️ it can be quite frustrating but I feel the goal this year is not to stress about getting things done all in one go but to enjoy the season’s idiosyncrasies and the opportunities they bring. If that means that some days we have to find something else to do then that’s the gift the season is giving me on that day! ❤🙏🏼

Our garden was not touched by me at all last year, what with health issues. This year I’m really hoping to tidy it up and getting it back to scratch. Also fixing the roof of the summer house roof that got damaged in the first storm of winter. When I say ‘this year I’m’ I really mean me and my husband, although a health issue for him is starting to show its head and he may not be up to helping me. Fingers crossed that he’s able to. Your garden is looking fabulous, only wish ours was the size of yours, less work. Fancy a house swap? Just kidding! I know you love your house and garden. I have a bit of Irish blood in me.
