Join me in Manila Philippines as I take a night walk from Tondo to Binondo. I pass through some areas where you can barely walk, and the crazy thing is, it wasn't even it's busiest night. Manila Philippines is home to one of the most densely populated districts which is Tondo. I begin my walk from Moriones area of Tondo, and then make my way through the Divisoria Market into Binondo where I end up near Chinatown. Would you walk here?

Most roads are doable but not the intersection where you got stuck, feels like a crisis is going to happen. Are you up for a Chrismtas season walk challenge?😄😄. Interestingly, people are more confident to freely use their smartphones in the open. I guess stealing phones is not in anymore due to the plenty old videos of thieves being caught and mauled by the public.

I hope soon the government will start improving the peoples lives by building and improving necessary basic infrastructures like water system, sewer, roads, etc. especially for the poor people of the Philippines. It's a shame that many people are living under terrible living conditions in such a beatiful and wonderful country. It can be done!

These people arent poor. They look pretty well fed to me. And, they seem happy, even in the real slums.
@koreanstallion11 ай бұрын
@@BP7BlackPearl I've seen many videos of slums in this channel. People are indeed very poor and living under terrible conditions. They seem happy because they are good people and learned to cope with adverse living conditions. Just because they seem happy, they dont want better living conditions? They look well fed? Look at the type of food they eat. They first need reliable water, and power sources, sewer systems, roads, housing, etc. etc. These are the basic infrastructures the government must provide. With hundreds of petro burning tricycles buzzing around with no emissioin controls, think about the air people have to breathe, richn or poor, one example.

@@koreanstallion Its all relative. Just 150 years ago, NOBODY had electricity. There were no paved roads, only cobblestone, etc. I was walking up a river in rizal, and there was this obviously home made hut in the mountains. They cooked outside, washed their clothes in the river. They invited me for food. I graciously declined, but they were very happy, and had two kids. No electricity, no roads, just somehow went and go their own food. One thing I have noticed is how much trash there is in these "slums", and many people are sitting around doing not much of anything. Well, they could go around and pick up all that trash, but they are used to the lifestyle, its their own thing.

@@koreanstallion ignore the naysayers here, 17% of the population are really poor here. even being non-poor working class and middle class here (70% of the population) is a huge struggle when a single apple costs 1$ usd, public transport sucks, and healthcare is so expensive . a typhoon, medical emergency or earthquake can drag lower middle class people into poverty again. the thin veneer of social mobility is so precarious. all our taxes go into corrupt politians' pockets and it makes everyone feel powerless.. the govt needs to introduce the measures that the japanese, south korean and taiwanese govts did between the 1960s to 1980s. the problem here is how complacent everyone is with the problems of this current governmental system and all the rampant corruption. they're too docile to demand change. they call it 'bahala na' (=its just fate/come what may) mentality. filiipinos see seoul, osaka, taipei, singapore and bangkok all the time on tv and media, some middle class filipinos even visit those places for weekend vacations, and they say 'oh lucky for them! they have decent governments and are well disciplined' instead of saying 'why can't OUR cities look like this?? our own govt sucks! we need to change them for competent people, and we need to be more disciplined and focused on country building!'. people arent bothered to ask for real change because everyone is just overworked, underpaid, tired, struggling and feel defeated by life here; and because of it, the govt here does nothing...

One of your difficult walks.😅 Even as a Filipino, I find this chaotic and cringey where an accident or problem is waiting every moment. There is no easy and quick solution. Siguro maganda sana kung electric propulsion na mga vehicles dito gaya ng e-scooters, e-tricycles para may mabawasan smoke at noise pollution
